Ella Langley & Gretchen Wilson Release Epic Duet Of Wilson’s 2004 Hit, “Here For The Party”

Ella Gretchen

Here for it.

Today, Gretchen Wilson and Ella Langley released a studio cut of Wilson’s 2004 hit “Here for the Party,” which was the second single and title track from her album of the same name. Written by Wilson along with Big Kenny and John Rich of Big & Rich, the song became Wilson’s second chart entry on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, and has since been certified gold by the RIAA.

It peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and even became a minor crossover hit, peaking at #29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 all-genre chart.

Of course, the album as a whole did very well too, as it debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #2 on the all-genre Billboard 200. At the time, it broke the record for the highest first sales week from a debut album by a country artist, selling over 227,000 copies. Additionally, it is currently certified 5x platinum by the RIAA and recently was named the 35th best country album of the 21st century by Billboard in terms of its performance on multiple different charts, beating out the likes of massive albums such as Eric Church’s Chief, Shania Twain’s Up! and the aforementioned Some Hearts and When the Sun Goes Down.

And “Here for the Party” in particular has become a favorite in Ella’s live show repertoire, as she covers it at all of her concerts and has cited Wilson’s music as an inspiration when it comes to her own writing and the songs she cuts.

It’s easy to hear that when you listen to some of Ella’s earlier releases in particular, so these two make a natural pairing and it’s fun to see them actually team up to record “Here For The Party” as a duet, since it’s become such a favorite among Ella’s fans too.

She’s obviously a superstar now, and she has absolutely exploded over the last year or so, and she really is such a talent and has a very long career ahead of her in music as a whole, and I’m sure fans are going to love this collab because everything she’s ding right now is just superb.

They also put out a video of their live performance from CMA Fest, where they rode out to the stage on four wheelers, of course:
