Back in December, the University of Michigan wasted no time separating themselves from former head coach Sherrone Moore after it was reported that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staffer… but they didn’t ever fire the female that Moore allegedly had his affair with.

In case you are in need of a refresher, Moore’s firing almost three months ago caught he college football world off guard. It seemed somewhat out of the maize and blue, considering the head coach wasn’t on the hot seat… until the news broke that the firing was because of inappropriate conduct off the football field.

According to a statement from Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel, Moore was fired for cause because of a relationship he had with someone else that worked for the Wolverines football team:

“Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a university investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and UM maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

What makes matters worse? Moore has been married to his wife, Kelli, for a decade, and the couple have three children together. Also, the affair reportedly went on for a number of years.

Shortly after news of Moore’s firing broke, even more concerning headlines were made, as the former Michigan Wolverines head coach was detained by police in Saline, Michigan and turned over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department “for investigation into potential charges” of assault. Those charges ended up being as follows:

-Home invasion in the third degree, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Prosecutors revealed that Moore is accused of allegedly “unlawfully entering the victim’s residence to commit the crime of stalking, and committing that crime while in the residence.”

-Stalking, a misdemeanor charge, which was brought to Moore for “allegedly engaging in a willful course of conduct involving repeated or continued harassment of the victim.” That could result in up to a year in jail.

-Breaking and entering or entering without breaking, for “allegedly unlawfully entering the dwelling of a victim with whom Mr. Moore had a dating relationship.” That’s another misdemeanor charge that could add 90 days to a sentence.

And even after all of that, Moore’s alleged mistress – identified as Paige Shiver – remained employed by the University of Michigan. That’s because a school policy in the university’s Standard Practice Guide prohibited Michigan from “retaliating” against any employee who reports a violation, assists in the reporting, or helps with an investigation. So Shiver was protected because she reported the violation when it was her supervisor’s responsibility.

Many wondered why the alleged mistress would want to stay at Michigan after all of that anyways. For those that assumed it wouldn’t be long before she moved on (just for a change of scenery), TMZ is reporting that Shiver is no longer with the University of Michigan. Was it a chaotic exit? Not exactly. Someone from the university told the outlet that Shiver’s contract simply expired and it was not renewed.

So Michigan has effectively ended that chapter of their program’s history… at least they hope to do so.

And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that lot of college football fans started cracking a lot of jokes when it was reported that the Michigan football program had hired a recruiting phenom by the name of Skylar Phan yesterday. She was formerly the Director of Recruiting Strategy at USC, and before that, a recruiting assistant at Texas.

Like I said, college football fans were quick to jump to the reply section to make jokes at the expense of Sherrone Moore.

I’d say this one best sums it up:
