Sounds like Amy Earnhardt is not a Jessica Simpson fan… at all. During a recent episode of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Bless Your Hardt podcast which he does with his wife, Amy, and a story came up from way back in the day about Jessica Simpson.
The singer, actress, and fashion mogul was at a race around the year 2008 or 2009, and Amy was at the track visiting Dale while they were dating. Amy had heard that Simpson was at the track, and since they were the same age and both from Texas, Amy wanted to meet her and she asked Dale if someone could work it out to get Jessica to come by the bus.
Well, Dale told her that probably wasn’t a good idea, and it’s because she had done an interview of Simpson earlier that day talking about how she had a dream that she married Dale Jr. in a treehouse.
Of course, Amy wasn’t having it after that, and decided she didn’t want her anywhere near Jr…
“It’s 2008, maybe 2009, and I am, I think, still living in Jacksonville, but I come up to Daytona to hang out with Dale. And I hear that Jessica Simpson is at the race track, and we’re the same age, we both came from Texas, so I’ve kind of always been a fan of hers.
And I’m like, ‘Hey, Dale, do you think that you could get Jessica Simpson to come to the bus so I can meet her?’ And he was like, ‘I don’t think that would be a really good idea.’ And I’m like, ‘Why not?’
And he shows me this clip, or somebody next to him, maybe it was Mike, shows me this clip of her doing an interview earlier that day, how she had a dream that she and Dale Jr. got married in a treehouse. And I’m like, ‘Yeah, don’t bring that b**** over here. That’s a good idea…'”
She went onto say that she hasn’t bought a Jessica Simpson shoe or anything else since then because Amy thinks Simpson was “trying to fish [her] man”:
“I haven’t bought a Jessica Simpson shoe, or bag, you know how she’s got all those things? She was ****** trying to fish my man.”
Jr. laughed and didn’t have much to say, but I’m not so sure he was as convinced as she was. He seemed rather dismissive of the entire conspiracy. Amy continued, saying she believes Simpson knew exactly what she was doing, and she must’ve heard Jr. wanted to build a treehouse (though I think that part was a joke):
“Yes she was! She knew exactly what she was doing. She heard that you wanted to build a treehouse, and she’s like, ‘I Had a dream! We’re meant to be together.'”
Jr. added:
“I bet she would dispute this.”
She probably would, but I’m not sure Amy will ever let her get close enough to try… and I can’t sat I blame her, though Jessica does have great shoes, I will give her that. But either way, it’s a great story, and I think most women in Amy’s position would feel the same way if we’re being honest:
