C’mon Jerry Jones… you can’t be doing that.
The Dallas Cowboy’s owner, president, and general manager has a knack for doing and/or saying some odd and questionable things from time to time. He’s previously stated that squirrel brains are delicious, and once tried to calm down a riled up Cowboys fanbase by saying that the season wasn’t going to be all “smiles and glory holes.”
Yes, he actually said that.
Jones is as unpredictable as they come, and at the age of 82-years-old (soon to be 83), he’s dangerous. Why? Because he’s already entered into that portion of your life where you are old and you stop caring about what other people think. That, along with other factors like being a billionaire, makes Jerry Jones a bit of a wild card.
That was on full display this past weekend when the Dallas Cowboys owner… let’s just say “greeted” New York Jets fans with a gesture that wasn’t all that nice. The Cowboys boast a record of 2-2-1 (that one tie will haunt football fans for the rest of the year) thanks to their most recent win at the New York Jets.
Dallas’ defense doesn’t look all that great, but their offense is a force to be reckoned with early on in the 2025 season. That could lead to quite the up-and-down season for “America’s Team,” and based upon Jerry’s latest blunder, could lead to some tension in the owner’s suite during game days this season.
The good news? Jerry Jones has a way to release some of that tension if it builds up, and he apparently prefers the “flip off the opposing fans that are sitting below you” method. Jones definitely seems like the type of guy that likes to look down at others and throw up the middle finger… and he did just that as the Dallas Cowboys beat the New York Jets this past Sunday:

Just in case you thought that was artificial intelligence, or just a bad angle, here’s another look at Jerry Jones flipping the bird to the fans that were seated below his suite. Hard to doubt or argue against this point of view… that the owner of the Dallas Cowboys (worth an estimated $19 billion) giving the middle finger salute to Jets fans:

If you are wondering whether or not Jerry Jones could face fines from the NFL for giving fans the finger, the answer to that is a strong, confident…. maybe. You probably remember that Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was hit with a $300,000 fine a couple of years back for chucking his drink at a fan.
Granted, throwing a drink on is actually more aggressive than a sarcastic middle finger with a smile, but the NFL definitely prefers for their owners to act in a mature and professional manner, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the league dish out a fine of some sort to keep Jerry Jones’ middle finger holstered.
