That’s what it’s all about.
Say what you will about Blake Shelton and his music, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody say a bad word about him as a person. He’s like the goofball (slightly drunk) uncle that everybody can’t wait to see at Christmas. Just a funny, down to earth dude.
And Blake recently got to make the day of two of his biggest fans.
If you remember last month, two stars of the Netflix reality dating show Love On The Spectrum went viral for their conversation about country music:
If you’re not familiar with the show (I’ve never actually watched it myself, just not into the whole reality dating show thing, even though this one looks pretty heartwarming), the documentary series showcases those with autism, and how they want to find love and navigate the world the dating and relationships. Netflix is currently airing its third season of the show, which they describe as:
“Seven adults with autism dive headlong into a dating group to explore the unpredictable world of romance, tackling misconceptions about both themselves and how they want to live.”
This season, one of the show’s newcomers – Madison Marilla – went on a date with another person on the show named Tyler White. The pair quickly hit it off thanks to their mutual appreciation for country music, with Tyler even showing off his impressive ability to instantly name the key of any country song:
Well the couple had something else in common too: They’re both BIG Blake Shelton fans.
After the show aired, apparently the “Ole Red” singer got word that two of the stars were big fans, so during Country Thunder in Florida this past weekend, he took time before the show to meet with Marilla and White – and it’s safe to say he made their day.
Marilla could barely contain her excitement:
“I can’t even believe I’m meeting you.”
And Blake even put White to the test, asking him what key his song “Sangria” is in – with White quickly responding that it was in A with “a little bit of F sharp,” which Blake quickly confirmed was correct.
Marilla also told Blake how much she loved watching Blake The Voice as he bickered with fellow judge Adam Levine, with Blake joking that the Maroon 5 frontman deserved it. And she also had high praise for Blake’s wife Gwen Stefani, with Blake and Madison chatting about their favorite songs from Gwen.
After the meeting, Marilla and White were still in shock:
“That was an out of body experience. I just can’t believe that…
He was the best coach on The Voice. And he said that Adam deserved the bickering, so I’d love to meet Adam Levine someday too.”
It was a heartwarming moment between Blake and two of his biggest fans, and it was pretty awesome to see the country music superstar take time before a performance to make their day.
And hey, if Blake ever needs somebody to tune his guitars for him, White already knows the keys to all of his songs.
