Cody Jinks is a shark, not a snake.
Jinks is on a roll with new music, recently releasing a cover of AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock’N’Roll)” followed up with a honky tonk heater, “Put The Whiskey Down.”
Today, he kept the momentum going, releasing another stellar new single, “Snake Bit.”
Penned by Jinks, Bobby Robinson, and Bryan Martin, “Snake Bit” is a message to those who do artists wrong in the music industry. While Jinks sings about the snakes that lurk in the tall grass in this world, he makes it very clear that he will not get bitten because he’s a shark.
“The music business is full of sharks and snakes. I can deal with sharks, I am a shark. It’s the snakes I will not suffer. ‘Snake Bit’ available now everywhere you listen to music. Hope you enjoy this one!”
The haunting melody of this song pairs perfectly with the lyrics, nothing that even if Jinks were to get bitten by a snake, getting filled with “venom and lies,” that he would not be taken down. It feels as though Jinks is singing a song to the big machine of country music, noting that even as an independent artist, he will make a name for himself and will be successful, without the help of the “snakes” of the industry.

Jinks has done it again with “Snake Bit,” and after one listen, I am sure you will have this one on repeat. Turn this one all the way up.
“Snake Bit” is Jinks’ third single this calendar year (fourth if you count his feature on Mark Morton’s track “Brother”), and fans hope these songs make it onto his next record.
The Texas outlaw recently shared a video announcing new music is on the way—not just a few singles but a whole record. While there is still no official announcement of this record or when we will get it, during this sit-down, Jinks does share that it’s “basically done.”

Jinks is a music-making machine who does not miss, so whatever is in store will be incredible.
