Sydney Sweeney speculation has never been swirling more.
The actress – who most people were introduced to in HBO’s teen drama Euphoria – has been making headlines as of late due to reports suggesting that her relationship is on the rocks. Around a month ago, news broke that Sydney Sweeney had postponed her wedding to her fiancé of three years, Jonathan Davino.
Because the 27-year-old actress moves the needle so much on social media (tread lightly if you choose to dive into the comment sections of her post), people really enjoy following along with what she shares online, and some eagle-eyed fans recently noticed that the known-t0-be engaged movie and TV star had deleted pictures with her fiancé off of her social media accounts.
The couple were first linked together back in 2018, and made headlines because of the age gap between them, with Davino being 41-years-old. And they were reportedly engaged in 2022, with plans to get married this coming May. According to TMZ, the wedding was pushed back due to the couple’s busy schedule, but now with the deleted picture aspect thrown it, there’s some wiggle room for reckless speculation… and by that, I mean there might be some trouble in paradise.
Obviously, I’m not going to sit here and root against a couple having a successful relationship. The same can’t be said for the internet though. When they heard that Sweeney gave the ax to a kissing pic of her and her fiancé, they were pleasantly surprised. Needless to say, the break up rumors started FLYING when the picture-deletion news hit the internet.
And it’s now seeming like those rumors might have legs, because another report from US Weekly has made claims that the wedding has been completely called off. An insider told the outlet that Sydney and Jonathan’s relationship is really being tested, and implied that the decision to cancel the wedding wasn’t mutual:
“Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now. All wedding plans have come to a halt and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
So why are Sweeney and Davino struggling? It sounds like Sydney is wanting to focus more on her career, and her fiancé (?) isn’t exactly happy about how much time she spends working… and isn’t exactly crazy about her co-stars:
“Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together. Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars.”
Just as social media got weirdly optimistic when it was revealed that Sydney Sweeney’s wedding had been postponed until further notice, and when people (mostly men) online began celebrating the deleted-picture-heard-around-the-world… desperate individuals are really starting to think that they have a shot with Sydney Sweeney:
