Even overseas, they’re fighting at concerts…
If you don’t know, country music is actually incredibly popular in Europe, and I’ve heard many country artists say that the fans across the pond are quite different from those of us in America… they tend to be very quiet and attentive, so typically the shows are not as rowdy as they can get here.
Of course, that’s a big generalization, and definitely not always the case… as is evidenced by what happened at Carly Pearce’s show at the O2 Academy in Birmingham, England the other night.
First, it started with Carly sharing that she had gotten the flu while in the UK, and she was down bad but going to power through since she had come all that way:
Yall, the last few days I have been battling feeling sick but yesterday the flu hit me right in the face. God has a funny sense of humor sometimes… these shows in the UK are some of the biggest sold out shows of my career & of course this would happen, right?!

She managed to still have the concert, though it was a much more stripped-down, simple show that wasn’t the full out production she usually does with her full-band. The crowd didn’t seem to mind at all, and Carly told them that’s really her favorite way to play so they would make the best of it:

But apparently, Carly had to break up a girl fight while she was trying to sing and also battle the flu, stopping and pointing out some girls near the front and telling them she was “sick and ain’t got time for it.” Carly added that they were disturbing everyone else there for a good time, which is the real issue here, as it is with any concert fight. I mean, you see people throwing hands at a Koe Wetzel show, and it’s not hard to understand why… but at a Carly Pearce show? I don’t know how that happens…
It looks like she was able to handle it from the stage without having to kick anyone out, which is good too because it’s rare to get a country show there compared to here, obviously, so you wouldn’t want to end up missing it after all that for something so dumb:
“We’re all here to just have a good night… we’re all friends at my shows. And girl, I am sick and I ain’t got time for it, okay? So just, please. I love you, I’m just saying, please don’t make everybody around you angry, okay? Ain’t nobody got time for that.”
But seriously, y’all, it’s 2025… why are we still fighting during concerts? We have to stop doing that…
