Ok but what is with the drones?
That seems to be the question on everybody’s mind lately, after reports of mysterious drones over New Jersey, New York and Maryland have been pouring in over the past month or so.
Many videos have been posted online showing the drones flying around at night, leading to plenty of calls to the police and questions about what the hell is going on.
@dailymail An eye-opening heatmap exclusively shared with DailyMail.com shows the shocking scale of apparent drone activity in New Jersey. The Garden State has been at the epicenter of the recent flurry of flying objects which have baffled experts and concerned local lawmakers – as the central government flounders to provide concrete answers about what’s going on. Aside from spreading panic among those in the area (and across the country), the drones have also caused issues with other aircraft. Last month, a medevac helicopter was prevented from landing to pick up a car crash victim because of drones flying in the area. And just last night, the airspace around Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio was forced to shut down due to drones flying in the area.
For the most part, the government hasn’t seemed to give us any answers as to what’s going on. Lawmakers from New York and New Jersey recently demanded a briefing with the Department of Homeland Security, the FAA and the FBI to discuss “how the agencies are working with federal and local law enforcement to identify and address the source of recent unmanned aerial system activity.”
And the Biden administration is being accused of withholding information from the public and being “dismissive” of the concern about the drones, with one National Security Council official of basically saying that people were mistaking airplanes for drones, while Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitting that people are seeing drones but insisting that there’s no danger and that the government has it under control:
“There very well may be drones in the sky, of course, but those are commercially available. One can go into a convenience store and buy a small drone. But we know of no threat or nefarious activity.”

The lack of information has led to a number of theories that have popped up over the past few days, including one widespread video speculating that the drones are searching for a missing nuclear weapon that was smuggled into the country:
This is the first video about these drones that has got me genuinely concerned. https://t.co/yzRoie2lUn

Even future President Donald Trump has accused the Biden administration of knowing more about the drones than they’re revealing (which, let’s be honest, seems obvious at this point).
Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!! DJT

Today, Trump once again addressed the drones and accused the government of knowing more than what they’re saying, something Pentagon spokesman John Kirby denied.
President-elect Trump on drones: "The government knows what is happening. Look, our military knows where they took off from. If it's a garage they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went. For some reason they don't want to comment." pic.twitter.com/JdITHAv4KJ

Kirby, meanwhile, seemed to blame it on…recreational pilots just taking their drones out for a spin at night.
John Kirby on the drones: "Our assessment is that this is lawful, legal, commercial, hobbyist, and even law enforcement aircraft activity. Some of it's manned, some of it's unmanned." pic.twitter.com/FwlWjA2RxA

So long story short, nobody has any idea what the fuck is going on, and the government isn’t telling us anything.
But with the panic over the drones and the lack of information, apparently the FBI is worried that people are going to start taking matters into their own hands.
The FBI Newark today issued a statement asking folks not to shoot down the drones, or shine lasers at them, because they could accidentally mistake a manned aircraft for a drone:
“FBI Newark and New Jersey State Police want to warn the public about an increase in pilots of manned aircraft being hit in the eyes with lasers because people on the ground think they see an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). There is also a concern with people possibly firing weapons at what they believe to be a UAS but could be a manned aircraft.”

All I’ve got to say is they’re probably lucky that these drones aren’t flying over the southern states. I’m originally from West Virginia, and I can just see somebody shooting down a multi-million dollar drone or whatever it is flying over their house. (Or some meth head takes one down and steals the copper out of it).
Now, let’s be honest: Nobody believes that the government DOESN’T know what these drones are, right? If there wasn’t some level of government that knew what they were, would they really just shrug them off and let them fly? Of course not.
That makes me think that they’re our own government flying the drones for some reason, but the fact that so many of our government officials are being kept in the dark makes it seem like some kind of super-classified operation.
But then again, what do I know. Maybe Rosie O’Donnell is right and they’re really aliens…
