Zach Bryan said that he was taking a break from touring in 2025, but there may be a few shows on the schedule.
The country music star (who has found himself in the middle of a high-profile breakup as of late) took to his Instagram to make a big announcement. Bryan’s dreams have evidently come to fruition, or at the very least they will be next summer, when the “Something In The Orange” singer plays a gig at this small little venue (sarcasm) called MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (home of the two worst football teams in the NFL).
Bryan revealed the exciting news on his social media platforms, saying:
“Always been a dream to play MetLife Stadium, so we’re doin it with Kings of Leon on July 20th, 2025. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 15th at 1pm ET anywhere you can buy tickets. One of the only shows we are slated to play next year. See y’all there! New York City we’re coming for ya.”
Well… technically New Jersey. But I guess it’s close enough.
Bryan, who has talked about his appreciation for and love of Kings of Leon in the past, also shared some lyrics to their 2010 hit “Back Down South” in the caption of the post:
“Underneath the stars, where we parked the cars
Ain’t showing signs of stopping.”
This announcement comes not too long after Bryan revealed that he wouldn’t be touring in 2025. Instead, the country music star says he will be pursuing his masters degree in Paris, France. That was somewhat lost amidst all of the Brianna Chickenfry breakup drama, but it was included in the the post that he shared about his new song “High Road,” in which he spoke about a conversation he had with his mother at her gravesite:
“After not being home for a year and a half, I drove out to my mother’s gravestone in the dead of night a few days back on familiar Oklahoma roads and I came to realize, just like in the past, that she never would call me again. Told her I quit touring because I got accepted to get my masters in Paris next year, I told her I was back in Oklahoma, told her about all my best friends in New York and all the nights we howled with the moon.
Told her about the immeasurable laughter my band and me have shared these last five years, all the calluses on my finger tips, every tear shed, told her about making it on The Rolling Stone and most importantly told her about porch swinging with my beautiful sister.”
So it appears that although he’s “quitting touring,” he’s not “quitting stand alone concerts.” A little confusing, but more power to him I suppose. If Zach Bryan fans are only going to have a couple of opportunities to see him live next year, they’ll probably flock to MetLife Stadium to see him play with Kings of Leon in July of 2025.
Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, November 15th at 1 p.m. eastern time, by the way…
