Bowhunter Tries To Make Practice Shot Through Vehicle Windows… Doesn’t Go Well

Bow shot in car
@dustinvaine

Saw that one coming…

I mean, I don’t know this guy, maybe he’s a good shot, but I certainly don’t trust myself that much, no matter how confident I’m feeling. Imagine having to call that one into insurance… or worse, your wife.

Bowhunting is a whole new ball game compared to hunting with a rifle. It takes so much practice to keep your shot dialed in, ready to take down the big one. People who bow hunt often shoot hundreds, if not thousands of arrows to get ready for those moments.

It is an intense way to hunt, you have to close the distance that much more on these animals and generally get within a 50-yard range to shot them. Being that close spikes your nerves and creates a harder situation to focus in. The only thing that can help with that is practice.

This guy thought he was getting ready for some deep woods hunting, where he’s trying to practice getting a shot off between trees and through the bushes.

He is seen with a buck target set up, and his vehicle in between him and the target with the back windows rolled down.

You realize what he is thinking and hope he doesn’t try it, but you have to see it all at the same time.

The man has second thoughts but has some good friends to support his stupid ideas.

“There’s not much room there for error”

“So, if I put it on him right there, I’m not gonna hit the roof?”

When he asked that, he should have had his answer. But when his buddy answer with “I don’t know” he really should have held up.

The man releases his arrow and doesn’t even get through the first window, nailing the door frame on the vehicle. I suppose drilling the door frame is better than shattering the partially open window.

Yup, that would make you feel stupid, but the laughter (and maybe the viral video) makes it all worth it?

Colorado Bowhunter Quietly Infiltrates A Herd Of Elk

Sneaking into an elk herd?

Next to impossible.

But for Buena Vista, Colorado, bowhunter Chris Burandt, it was a once in a lifetime experience:

“Probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced!

Me and my long time hunting buddy Hill Guides & Outfitters sat here for 15 minutes watching this group of elk do what they do. Watching the bull herding his cows this close was incredible.

I’d say the new SubAlpine Sitka Gear is the real deal! Who knew elk liked Kifaru, International backpacks too.”

The elk get spooked eventually, but you can bet something like this will probably never happen again.

If that ain’t a great commercial for Sitka, I don’t know what is.

Bull Elk Nearly Walks Right Into Bowhunter’s Arrow For Shockingly Close Shot

Just because I’ve never been on an elk hunt doesn’t mean I don’t know exactly how I’d have acted in this situation…

I’d have absolutely freaked out, spooked it off, and possibly ended up on the bad side of a elk charge.

Which is why what this guy was able to do is absolutely incredible.

South Cox of Stalker Stickbows was hunting with Born And Raised Outdoors when the elk they were tracking decided to start walking towards them.

It got closer.

And closer.

Then let out a guttural bugle from only about 20 feet away.

And it still got even closer until it was actually just a few feet away.

When the elk walks past him and gives up his broad side, South lets the arrow loose and buries it deep in what has to be the shortest kill shot of all-time. I mean what was that, 2 feet?

The most impressive part of this is his composure. Not only is he keeping his cool while a monstrous elk walks directly towards him, he’s holding a recurve bow at full draw the entire time, which is extraordinarily impressive.

Unlike the typical compound bow, there’s no catch at the end that holds the draw, so he’s literally pulling the entire time while staying pretty much completely still.

Very, very impressive.

Safe to say the elk went peacefully and everyone got to enjoy the spoils.

But damn, my heart is still racing…

Dad Sticks His Head Inside Drawn Bow & Regretted It Immediately

How’s that old saying go… you can’t fix stupid?

It shouldn’t take a brain surgeon to know that you should never shove your head inside a drawn compound bow, and this idiot dad is definitely not a brain surgeon. Nope, he just had to hot dog it front of the family.

Once you get it back to full draw and you feel the weight let up (because that’s how a compound bow works), dads starts feeling a little too confident, a little too relaxed, starts getting some funny ideas…

BIG mistake.

I’m not sure if this is his first day with a bow or not, but after that, it might be his last.

And if nothing else, at least he’s internet famous for being one of the dumbest people on Earth to ever pick up a bow.

To date, the video has garnered over 21 MILLION views on Facebook.

OOF…

Grizzly Bear Attacks Two Bowhunters Who Capture The Entire Terrifying Encounter On Video

NOPE…

Bears might be one of the coolest, most badass animals on the entire planet. And for many of the same reasons, it also makes them some of the most terrifying animals on the planet.

Big, fast, strong… if you happen to find yourself in the unfortunate position of getting changed by a bear, it might be too late before you even get the chance to react. For these two bowhunters in Canada, that was nearly the case.

While hunting near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, these bowhunters stumbled upon a big ol’ sow and her two cubs at the feed barrel, but once she got a whiff them, she locked on in a full blown charge.

“These two hunters were watching a bear and her cubs when the larger animal suddenly charged towards them.

Luckily, the two men were able to scare the bear off and walked away with only minor injuries.”

Thankfully, these fellas escaped with some minor injuries, and what I can only imagine is a freshly soiled pair of shorts.

But… they caught the entire thing on camera.
