A totally new side of Post Malone.

Yesterday, the superstar who is gearing up to release a country album sometime this year teased an unreleased new song seemingly called “She Ain’t Yours,” which finds the dad of one imagining what it will be like to give away his little girl one day when she gets married.

Post has one daughter with his fiancée, who was born in May of 2022, and it’s clear after listening to this that being a dad has softened him in many ways. He tends to keep his personal life extremely private, so getting a very intimate glimpse into that aspect of his life and feelings is all the more surprising and intriguing.

And I can only imagine this will be the father-daughter dance song of the decade when it’s eventually released, as it’s a beautiful and tearjerking tune that I imagine every dad of a little girl can relate to.

He was the one that was there when she was wearing pink dresses instead of white, and he has loved her since the day she was born, so even though he’s “giving her away,” that doesn’t change is unwavering and unconditional love for his daughter:

“When I walk her down that aisle and do what daddies have to do,
And she might be wearing white, but her first dress, it was pink,
She might be your better half, yeah, but she’s my everything,
We both love her forever, but I loved her long before,
And one day I know I’ll give her away,
Buddy, that don’t mean she’s yours”

Posty’s ability to do almost any genre never ceases to amaze me, and while this isn’t exactly classic country in terms of the production, the lyrics are what shine and make it an immediate standout (and likely future hit, in my humble opinion) in his catalog, even though it isn’t even released yet.

Seriously, grab a tissue before you hit play…

Additionally, Post has a new song with Blake Shelton coming out this Friday called “Pour Me A Drink,” on the heels of his mega hit with Morgan Wallen “I Had Some Help” that has spent four weeks at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is battling for a fifth straight week at #1.
