Not gonna lie, the pandemic has really brought out the worst in people, especially when it comes to the food industry.
Knowing several people who work as servers at restaurants, I can’t tell you how many times they have been cussed out because they had to tell a customer to wear a mask when in the building, to keep their distance, capacity limits… you name it.
It’s not hard to imagine why, but it gets INSANELY exhausting…
But for one brewery in Bedford, Virginia, they thought this actually might be a really good marketing scheme. A customer recently cussed out one of the employees over the mask policy, and then followed it up with a thoughtful email that read:
“Ya’ll suck. Your manager is bitch and your beer tastes like hot old orange juice.”
And with that, Beale’s Beer has just announced a new beer called “Your Manager Is Bitch,” directly mocking said customer. I know, I know, the name is lacking an “A,” but that’s because the brilliant customer forgot about a type-o.
This was the statement from the brewery:
“Meet BC. She started with us as a server when Beale’s opened, worked her way up to bartender and now GM. She’s kept our team together throughout the past year, gracefully navigating every new challenge thrown her way.
This beer was inspired by the troll who emailed us “your manager is bitch” after he was refused service for refusing to wear a mask. We thank him for giving us an opportunity to stand behind BC and the countless other service industry workers who come to work every day with unfailing optimism.”
And although the customer’s email claimed their beer tasted like hot, old OJ, Beale’s new “Your Manager Is Bitch” actually tastes like pecan pie, with “notes of caramelized sugar and warm, toasted pecans.”
They even included the hateful email on the can just to dig the customer even further in the ground. I know this might be the ultimate petty move, but I gotta say, I’m all about it. In fact, I absolutely love it.
