Setting the record straight.
Ella Langley is on top of the world right now, having unprecedented success with her mega hit single “Choosin’ Texas,” and she’s been out on the road this year selling out shows for her Dandelion tour which has been one of the hottest tickets of the year.
Of course, her stardom comes along with a lot of attention, and she has a very loyal following of male fans who affectionately call themselves “Ella Fellas,” and it’s actually pretty cute. It’s all in good fun, and one Ella Fella in particular tried to shoot their shot, so to speak, with her recently, and let’s just say, it didn’t exactly go well.
In a video that now has over 3 million views on TikTok, you see a fan yell at Ella through a parking garage, asking her how many likes his TikTok would need to get for him to be able to take her out on a date:
“Ella, how many likes to take you on a date?”
You can hear Ella say back:
“There’s not enough in the world.”
Damn, savage. But honestly, Ella can have a pretty dry sense of humor… her deadpan delivery is pretty common if you pay attention, and she’s actually pretty good from a comedic standpoint. She’s also obviously not interested in someone that she probably can’t even see yelling at her through a parking garage fence…
He then looked at the camera and laughed, saying:
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Which is also funny… anyone expecting this to not garner any kind of funny reaction is a moron. He made a funny video, she gave a funny response, and he had a funny reaction… no harm no foul.

But of course, because Ella is THE girl right now, the video went mega viral, and plenty of people weighed in on her reaction, with many displeased with what she said and how she said it.
“Why did that make her so mad lol”
“Love seeing the real side of celebs that y’all hype up.”
“Literally what is her problem.”
“This rubbed me the wrong way. And I like her.”
“Why tf is she so mad.”
“She responded, wife dat.”
“She didn’t say the universe though.”
“True colors of those that are famous come out in rare moments.”
“She could have laughed and said no in a whole different way.”
“Bro, she was disgusted.”
‘She was mad as hell lol.”
“Why the attitude? Geezz.”
It goes on like that.
And because the video went so viral, Ella took time to leave a comment explaining herself, saying her response was meant “as dark humor,” but she knows it didn’t land due to the look on her face. She added that regardless, “it takes more than likes on a TikTok,” adding that she’s “still a human”:
“This was definitely meant as dark humor, and it obviously didn’t land due to my face. I will say, it takes more than likes a on Tik Tok. I’m still a human.”
Ella of course also didn’t mention that she’s been spotted out with fellow country artist Tucker Wetmore and they’re rumored to be an item, but still, I get her point. It takes a little more than TikTok likes to get a date with the biggest star in music right now… sorry fellas.
Ella has been on a heck of a run, things like this probably happen to her all of the time now, but like she said, she’s still a human and I think people forget that sometimes when it comes to artists and things they do or say. There’s a lot of people online right now… especially women, who see another woman on the top of mountain and can’t help but try to tear her down… it’s a such an insanely toxic and gross way to go through life.
Of course, things like this just come with the job, and in the grand scheme of things, it’s rather harmless… I think the guy was just trying to be funny. But thanks to social media, these kinds of things tend to get blown way out of proportion and then people like to pile on simply because Ella has become a superstar.
We’ve seen pop stans slander her after she broke Mariah Carey’s record, people digging up old hunting photos (as if anyone with half a brain cares that she hunts), she clearly has a target on her back right now (from people who don’t even listen to or care about country music) and these losers on social media are looking for any single reason to slam her. It’s pathetic. And look, Ella doesn’t own this guy or anyone an explanation for her reaction, but because she’s a down to earth and kind person, she commented on it to clear the air.
