Miranda Lambert Delivers Flawless Rendition Of Alan Jackson’s “Dallas” During His Final Concert

The only option for a Texas girl like Miranda Lambert.

On Saturday night, country legend Alan Jackson capped off a legendary career in Nashville with his star-studded Last Call: One More For the Road – The Finale concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The concert immediately became one of hottest tickets of the year, the stadium was packed, the streets were packed, a big video board was placed on Broadway for a public showing… just about everybody in business showed up to send off one of the best to ever play the game.

Along with Alan, the show featured an all-star lineup of Eric Church, George Strait, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Jon Pardi, Thomas Rhett, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson and Lee Ann Womack.

And Miranda performed one of Jackson’s early 90s hits “Dallas,” which was written by Jackson along with Keith Stegall and released in December of 1991 as the third single from his second album, Don’t Rock the Jukebox. The song peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, becoming Jackson’s fourth consecutive single to top that chart.

According to the liner notes of his 1995 album The Greatest Hits Collection, he was inspired to write it after playing the legendary honky tonk Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas. After playing a concert there, he remarked to someone that he “wished Dallas was in Tennessee,” and the rest is history.

He penned a hit out of it, and of course Billy Bob’s is an iconic Texas staple, a place that’s very near and dear to Miranda’s heart, so it was the perfect song choice for her and I hope at some point we get a live album of all of the performances from this night because it was simply incredible.

I’m sure at some point we’ll get a documentary or some sort of movie with all the amazing performance too, I mean there was just too much str power and Jackson is such an icon that I have no doubt it will be preserved somehow for all of us to cherish forever.
