Post Malone Brings Up Fan For Performance Of “Feeling Whitney,” Which Was Inspired By Hank Williams & Dwight Yoakam

Post Malone country music

Impressive.

Last night, Post Malone’s kicked off his Big A** Stadium Tour in Charlotte, North Carolina at Bank of America stadium, where he revealed to the crowd that his forthcoming double album, The Eternal Buzz, is 99% done and just about ready to be released.

And he also brought a fan on stage to help him with “Feeling Whitney,” and it turned out to be really incredible. The fan turned out to be a fellow musician, though I’m not sure Post knew that at the time, and it’s always a gamble to bring someone up who tells you they can do it… but obviously, there’s no way to know.

This risk was well worth it, though, as Graham Banks played an acoustic guitar for Posty as he sang his hit “Feeling Whitney,” which is a song from the deluxe edition of Posty’s massive debut album, Stoney. Some of the songs on the deluxe edition of Stoney were inspired by artists like Hank Williams and Dwight Yoakam, and the original song is a stripped-down ballad, and it really is a beautiful song.

Written by Andrew Wotman and Post himself, it’s easy to see the country influence he’s always had in songs like this… up until he released his debut country album F-1 Trillion in 2024, we didn’t hear it a lot, but clearly he’s always been inspired by the classics and he really does know his country music.

While never a huge radio hit, “Feeling Whitney” has become a fan-favorite, and in speaking to Graham before they started the song, Post told him to take it easy, this is obviously a much slower, more stripped-back song than some of this other earlier hits, telling him to just “have a great time” doing it:

“It sounds good to me. Can you hear it? Just take it nice and slow, just do it easy. and I’m gonna give you four counts, just hit that C… have a f****** great time.”

He was incredibly kind in introducing Graham and getting hi all set up, and they even shared a hug, and Post told him he “f****** loved him,” and he always comes across as so kind and humble, so loving to his fans, which is evident in him giving this young artist such a special moment to perform at a stadium with him… obviously, Post is one of the biggest artists in the world and this is just so dang cool of him.

They did an incredible job, too:
