Even more history for Ella Langley.
As time passes, it’s becoming increasingly clear that 2026 will go down as the year of Ella Langley. As of writing, it’s pretty safe to say that she’s not only the hottest country artist on the planet right now but also one of the hottest artists in all of music.
In particular, “Choosin’ Texas” has been one of the biggest hits we’ve ever seen in country music history. As it stands today, it’s the longest-running #1 hit by a female country artist on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 (nine weeks), the only country song by a woman to triple up and go #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot Country and Country Airplay chart simultaneously and just the seventh country song solely recorded by a woman to go #1 on the Hot 100 in the history of the chart. Additionally, it’s also helped her become the second woman in history to hold the #1 album and song in the U.S. simultaneously with a country song/album and the first female country singer to capture the top two songs in the U.S. with “Be Her” sliding up to #2 this week.
With “Choosin’ Texas” being the hottest song in the country for the better part of the year, it was pretty safe to say that Langley was in for a huge night at the 61st ACM Awards in Las Vegas last night. As it turns out, it wasn’t just big; it was historic.
The Alabama native was nominated seven times (tied for second-most on the night) as an artist, producer and songwriter. She ended up winning in every category, which you can see below:
-Artist-Songwriter of the Year
-Song of the Year: “Choosin’ Texas” (as an artist and songwriter)
-Single of the Year: “Choosin’ Texas” (as an artist and producer)
-Music Event of the Year: “Don’t Mind If I Do” with Riley Green
-Female Artist of the Year
The fact that she dethroned legends such as Brooks, Stapleton and Hill is already an incredible feat to accomplish. However, when you take a look back at how much success she had the year previous, the numbers become even more mind-blowing.
In addition to having the most ACM awards in one night, she now holds the record for most wins in a two-year stretch with a staggering 12. This, of course, is thanks to the fact that she took home an additional five awards at the 60th annual ACM Awards back in 2025 for New Female Artist of the Year as well as Single, Music Event and Visual Media of the Year, all for her breakout duet with Riley Green, “you look like you love me.” With 12 ACMs in a two-year span, she passed Faith Hill’s longstanding record of 10 awards across the 1998 and 1999 ceremonies.
The back-to-back Single of the Year wins is another particularly rare double-up for Langley as well. With “you look like you love me” and “Choosin’ Texas” winning in back-to-back years, the 27-year-old singer/songwriter is now just the fifth artist in history to win the award in consecutive years.
In case you were wondering the elite company she joined last night, that would be the likes of Willie Nelson (“To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” & “Highwayman”) in 1985 and 1986, Randy Travis (“On the Other Hand” & “Forever and Ever, Amen”) in 1987 and 1988, Faith Hill (“It’s Your Love” & “This Kiss”) in 1998 and 1999 and Miranda Lambert (“Over You” & “Mama’s Broken Heart”) in 2013 and 2014.
