He’s all grown up… but whether or not Carter’s apparent love interest gets the Beth Dutton seal of approval remains in question.
Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly are set to reprise their roles as Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton in the sequel series Dutton Ranch, which is set to premiere on May 15th on Paramount+, and their new show has been described as “Yellowstone Season 6.”
The synopsis for the series goes like this:
“Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton gamble everything on a new life in South Texas, but the promise of building a future far from the ghosts of Yellowstone quickly collides with brutal new realities and a rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire.”
And if you’re wondering who else will appear in the show other than Reilly and Hauser, Deadline reported back in July of last year that Finn Little would be returning to play his character Carter in the series.
Of course, Yellowstone fans got introduced to Carter, who is played by Finn Little, in the beginning of Season 4, which premiered in the fall of 2021. Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) meets him at the hospital, and decides to take him in after learning that he just lost his mother and is now an orphan. Beth brings him to the ranch to learn the ways of a cowboy, and in many ways, this is the first taste of motherhood Beth has ever had, and probably ever will have, considering she is unable to have children.
It was unfamiliar territory for both her and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), but they treat him like their own, and now 19-years-old, he’s completely grown into being a young man, and it’s crazy how much older he looks, no longer that little boy we all met on Yellowstone five years ago now.
Little shared a photo on his Instagram page recently, which looks to be a photo from the show where he’s sitting on the edge of a Bronco with a pretty blonde girl, who has her legs draped over him, and according to IMDB, she is a character named Oreana, played by actress Natalie Alyn Lind, who is part of this cast too:
I’m sure we’ll find out more about whatever this is once the show is out, but of course, fans in the comments were shocked to see how much older Carter is now:
“Not so little anymore!”
“Mr. Little not so little anymore.”
“Can’t wait for the show! You’re all grown up!”
“Aaww our Carter boy is all grown up now.”
Carter all grown up.”
“I’m liking what I see… little Rip.”
“Dang, kid got big.”
“The boy became a man, watch out for the barrel racers.”
“DAMN. Carter grew up!”
But I tend to agree with the ones about Beth… good luck to this girl because I’m sure Mrs. Beth will have a LOT to say about whatever’s going on here. Of course, if you watched the original Yellowstone series, then you know dealing with Beth when it comes to this sort of thing will certainly not be a walk in the park, to say the least:
“Awe! I can’t help but hope Beth likes her.”
“Beth about to give her a TALK.”
“Carter having a girlfriend… Oh, Beth is gonna LOVE that that poor girl.”
Dutton Ranch is probably the most highly-anticipated show to come out of the Yellowstone universe since the original show first aired, as these two have been fan-favorites since the beginning.
And as for the rest of the cast we know about so far, A-list actress Annette Bening will be joining the show and she’ll be playing a powerful owner of a major Texas ranch named Beulah Jackson. There will also be the addition of Jai Courtney, an Australian actor (known for his roles in The Suicide Squad and The Terminal List) that will be playing an “unpredictable ranch foreman” whose name is “Rob-Will.”
The series trailer dropped recently too, and it looks like we’re in for a wild ride, not that I would expect anything less from Rip and Beth… check it out:
