Country as can be… and I’m here for it.
Today, we’re thrilled to premiere Ashland Craft’s reimagined version of her song “Yard Sale,” which now features two other country queens in Ashley McBryde and Mae Estes.
It was originally featured as a solo cut on her 2025 Dive Bar Beauty Queen album, and if Craft’s name sounds familiar, she has opened up for huge country stars like Zac Brown Band, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan and more. When you listen to any of her music, you’ll instantly find that she has been influenced by a wide variety of artists from Def Leppard to Chris Stapleton, as well as ladies like Bonnie Raitt, The Chicks, and Sheryl Crow.
The South Carolina native released her fantastic debut album Travelin’ Kind in 2021, and that’s when I became a huge fan because the girl knows how to do country and she does it with a whole lot of wit and sass, which I’m always partial to.
And “Yard Sale” shows off exactly those qualities, plus with the added attitude and killer vocals from Estes and McBryde, it just kicks the song up a whole other notch and gives it that added fire and flair, which you can never have enough of, in my humble opinion. Written by Craft along with Kasey Tyndall and Lee Starr, “Yard Sale” is Southern storytelling at its best, making for a collaboration that’s full of grit, humor, and of course, plenty of girl-power.
Ashland says she knew right away who she wanted to ask to feature on the song:
“If you’re looking for big voices and a whole lot of heart, this is the crew. When it came time to team up on this one, there was no question who I was calling. I’ve gotten to know Ashley and Mae over the years, and I’d been itching for the chance to create something together.
This song has that small-town charm and chaos we all grew up around, and it just felt right. They’re not only incredible vocalists, they’re true storytellers – and you can hear how much fun we had bringing it to life.”
She added that Mae and Ashley are some of her favorite artists, and they had a blast getting to work together in this capacity:
“The narrative of ‘Yard Sale’ has an heir of small town humor, nostalgia, drama, and chaos that I felt we had all 3 heard about (or could relate to) during our times spent in our Carolina/Arkansas roots.
Ashley and Mae are not only incredible vocalists, but are both amongst the best storytellers, songwriters and performers of this lifetime. Both on and off stage, these gals are inspirations to myself and so many others, and I hope everyone can feel how much fun we had while reimagining this song!”
Mae calls it a “dream” to work with Ashland and Ashley:
“What a dream to team up with these two! The women of country music are what brought me to Nashville and to get to collab on such a great song with two friends that have inspired me for years is the best. Ashland knows her Arkansas girls always have her back and will help her throw a yard sale anytime!”
McBryde says it was an “automatic hell yes” when Ashland asked if she wanted to be part of this song, saying she’s “proud” to be in the same “musical landscape” as these two:
“When Ashland asked if I wanted to be on this song with her and Mae, it was an automatic ‘Hell yes!’ I love these two women, the music they make, what they stand for and how they carry themselves. I’m proud to be part of the same music landscape as these two.”
From a stylistic and vocal standpoint, these three makes so much sense together, and lyrically, it’s such a fun tune… which finds them setting up a yard sale to get rid of an ex’s crap that means next to nothing to any of them now:
“I like a redneck Vanna
And a lawn chair cabana
Sippin’ on a special lemonade
She hollered brand new blower
Barely used mower
This could all be yours today
I’ll cut you a deal
On a rod or reel
Lord knows he couldn’t catch a cold
And whatever that is
I’ll throw it in with it
Everything but the dog must go
So it’s three for a dollar, two for a dime
Buy one get one, just name your price
The way you done me, I’m half inclined
To let it all go, free-ninety-nine
And your three days to get it never did so hell
It’s a ‘get his s*** off the yard’ sale, yeah”
Sounds like my kind of yard sale…
The release follows Ashland putting out a duet edition of her song “Momma Don’t Pray Like She Used To” with Chase Rice, and in 2025, her song “Last 20 Dollars” (one of my favorites from the aforementioned Travelin’ Kind), was featured on the hit Taylor Sheridan series Landman.
If you’ve never checked out any of her music before, it’s high time to change that, and “Yard Sale” with Ashley and Mae is the perfect place to start. They have it all, from incredible, gritty vocals to impeccable, fun delivery, so do yourself a favor and turn it up:
