It’s no stretch to say that Ella Langley is not only the hottest country artist on the planet right now but also one of the hottest artists in all of music. Riding the momentum gained throughout 2024 and 2025, due to her smash hit with Riley Green, “you look like you love me,” Langley shattered any previously set career expectations upon the release of her all-genre #1 hit, “Choosin’ Texas.”
Upon its release on October 7th, the track debuted at #37 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, also launching all the way to #7 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, both of which were career-highs for the “hungover” singer. Flashforward to December 2nd, it became Langley’s first career #1 hit on the aforementioned Hot Country Songs chart. In turn, it became the fastest solo female song to reach the top 10 at US Country Radio this decade, taking just eight weeks to crack the Top 10.
Thanks to an incredible amount of buzz online and a last-minute push by fans, on Monday, February 9th, she went #1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 with the monster track. In turn, she became just the seventh female artist IN HISTORY to go #1 on the Hot 100 with a country song. Additionally, she became the first woman ever to triple up and score #1s on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay and Hot 100 chart simultaneously.

Thanks to the success of “Choosin’ Texas,” the buzz surrounding her upcoming sophomore album, Dandelion, which is slated for an April 1oth release, and continued popularity nationwide highlighted by her American Eagle partnership, Langley is not only becoming a torchbearer for women in country music but also a force to be reckoned with in the music industry as a whole.
That notion is being recognized by Billboard today as Langley is set to be honored at its 2026 Women in Music Awards, receiving the “Powerhouse Award,” thanks to her “commanding voice, bold storytelling, and chart success.”
Along with Langley, Morgan Wallen-collaborator and pop star, Tate McRae, actress/songwriter, Teyanna Taylor, Kehlani, Laufey and Zara Larsson are also set to take home various awards throughout the night. Given her title as “Powerhouse Award” winner, Langley will also be in the running to win the show’s most prestigious award, Woman of the Year, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
In a statement, Jason Lipshutz, Billboard’s co-chief content creator, would note how each of the artists receiving awards are helping push the music industry “forward in powerful ways.”
“The 2026 Billboard Women in Music honors artists who are not only shaping the sound of today, but defining the culture of tomorrow. This year’s honorees represent bold creativity, global influence and artistic excellence across genres. From breakthrough voices to enduring icons, each of these women is pushing the industry forward in powerful ways.”
As for the show, Billboard’s Women in Music Awards celebration will take place on April 29th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Being hosted by Keke Palmer, the show will consist of a “dynamic lineup of performers and presenters,” according to Billboard itself.
