Tyler Childers Announces He And His Wife, Senora May, Are Expecting Their Second Child This Summer

Tyler CHilders

Quite the way to announce you’re having a child.

Riding the highs of the release of Snipe Hunter last year, 2026 is looking to be the biggest year on record for the one and only Tyler Childers. In addition to snagging three Grammy nominations and his first-ever win for Best Country Song (“Bitin’ List”), the Kentucky Native is also planning his largest tour to date, Snipe Hunt, which will hit major amphitheaters and stadiums such as Wrigley Field in Chicago throughout the summer and fall.

With that being said, however, 2026 just became even more important for Childers, given the fact that he just announced that he and his wife, Senora May, are expecting their second child this summer.

Incredibly unconventionally, Childers would take to his Instagram story last night to share the news that the popular birthing center at Ephriam McDowell Health in Stanford, Kentucky, was closing, noting how vital it is to both the well-being of mothers in Stanford as well as the Amish community surrounding the town.

In between expressing his sadness over the center closing, Childers would officially announce that they were expecting their second child, while also noting that Ephriam McDowell assisted May when they had their first son in September of 2022.

“Saddened to hear about the impending closure of the birthing center at Ephriam McDowell. In Sept. of 2022, Senora gave birth to our baby boy here. We were intending on going here for the birth of our second baby, who we are expecting later this summer.

This birthing center is a vital part of maternal care in the Stanford area. It would greatly affect the Amish community surrounding the birthing center as well. The birthing center is a top notch medical facility that Kentucky should be proud of.”

For many, it will probably come as a surprise that Childers and May are expecting their second child, given the fact that not much is known about their first child. Wisely, the couple has kept him away from the public eye. What we do know, however, is that his arrival was announced in May of 2023 on Mother’s Day via Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund, the couple’s nonprofit, along with a beautiful poem penned by May herself.

Congratulations to Tyler and Senora.
