The next era of Ella Langley is here. Today, she announced her highly-anticipated sophomore album Dandelion will be out everywhere on April 10th. Ella produced the album alongside Miranda Lambert and Ben West, and of course, she already has a hit in the lead single, “Choosin’ Texas.”

Ella will release the title track  The title track “Dandelion this Friday, January 30th, and in the album teaser on Instagram, she shared a little bit about the meaning of it all:

“Dandelion’s are masters of survival. Thriving in even the harshest environments. Often dismissed as a common weed, this unassuming plant carries the deeper symbolism of hope, healing and resilience. This next record to me has so much growth in it. I feel the most myself I’ve ever felt. I want you to dance, I want you to sing, I want you to be able to relate to these words where you don’t feel alone in your thoughts. I want you to not even worry about anything and daydream and listen to these songs.

I want you to enjoy them with your friends and family, and I’ve thought about this record every single day for the last year and a half, and I’m so excited to finally say welcome to Dandelionland.”

She adds that she wanted it to feel like “the best kind of Sunday afternoon,” and the record really serves as a love letter to her childhood memories and that feeling of nostalgia and freedom:

“This record has so much growth in it. I’ve never poured more of myself into a project, into a song, into an idea, and it’s fallen out so beautifully. It’s about learning yourself, making mistakes, and realizing that it’s all just part of life.

I want this record to be something that fans can relate to, but also something they want to get up and dance to at the same time. To me, this record feels like fireflies in the summertime. It feels like windows down on a red dirt road. It feels like the best kind of Sunday afternoon.

It feels like those days I remember as a kid where it felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day. This record is really a love letter to that.”

Ella of course put out her debut album Hungover in the summer of 2024, which featured her smash hit, award-winning song with Riley Green “You Look Like You Love Me.” She adds that Dandelion is actually a follow up to Hungover in the sense that dandelion tea can help detoxify the liver. Ella says:

“I learned that dandelion tea is actually a natural detox for the liver. So a record called Dandelion after a record called hungover made all the sense in the world to me.”

It’s clear that Ella has become an absolute superstar in the genre, selling out shows and winning multiple CMA and ACM Awards for the aforementioned songs. This will surely be one of the most highly-anticipated albums of the year, and I know fans will be thrilled that her next project is on the way:

“So excited to finally announce that my sophomore album ‘Dandelion’ will be out April 10th & the title track is yours this Friday! Welcome to Dandelionland.”
