Guess you have to capitalize on the stadium move, eh?
There’s a good chance that the Buffalo Bills have played their final game in Highmark Stadium. Though there is a long shot opportunity for them to host the AFC Championship (both the No. 6 Seed Bills and No. 7 Seed Los Angeles Chargers would have to reach that game), the Bills have most likely concluded their Highmark Stadium chapter.
And that makes me sad.
Why? Because while the Bills have played in Highmark Stadium, the organization has relied on fans to clear out snow when big flurries hit. The “Bills Mafia” has always taken pride in shoveling snow when called upon, and unfortunately, that tradition will be ending after this season.
When the team makes the move to New Highmark Stadium at the start of the 2026 season, the Bills organization has opted to use internal/vendor resources for snow removal starting in 2026. Though the new stadium will be an open-air concept (many thought Buffalo should go with a dome, but they didn’t), the “Bills Mafia” will no longer be called upon to shovel the snow.
On the plus side, I guess that gives them more time to break tables and take ketchup and mustard showers (look it up).
And Buffalo Bills fans actually have a couple of different options when it comes to keeping the spirit of Highmark Stadium alive. Bud Light has already rolled out a special edition brew that used snow from inside the stadium. The “Blizzard Brew” is out there for those willing to pay a higher price (a six pack of empty Blizzard Brew cans are currently listed on EBay for $80).
If the Bills Mafia wishes to spend their money in another way, they’ll be happy to know that the Buffalo NFL team has partnered with CollectibleXchange to sell memorabilia that’s either from or made from pieces of Highmark Stadium. Brandon Steiner, the founder of the collectibles company, told Buffalo Toronto Public Media that they are already exploring selling the stadium’s turf, goalposts, lockers and section signs.
They’re even taking things a step further, and going outside the box a bit to sell more zany, unique items that people may still be interested in buying. For example, they are considering selling the stadium’s lights, and more importantly, Highmark’s urinal troughs:
“There’s definitely the troughs in the bathroom. There’s some stuff in some of the suites that are interesting, great photos, stuff maybe in the locker room that could be kind of quirky, one offs, that sort of thing.
I knew it’d be fun taking the stadium apart, because I know it’d be meaningful. You know, memorabilia is meaningful memories. I always say they call it memorabilia, but it’s meaningful memories. And I felt like I’d go create some really cool products.”
Yeah, talk about a conversation starter. Imagine having one of the Highmark Stadium urinal troughs in the man cave. You’d certainly be bringing the NFL experience right into your home… hopefully after it’s been cleaned up really well.
It’s cool to hear that Highmark Stadium will be able to live on in the form of collectible items. And part of the deal that the Bills struck with CollectibleXchange is that 50% of the proceeds go toward Erie County, where the Buffalo Bills organization has been operating from for over 50 years (and will continue to operate from with New Highmark Stadium also being located in the county).
