It really is that simple.
Ella Langley is gearing up to both present and perform at the CMA Awards this Wednesday, which will start at 7 p.m. CT on ABC with Lainey Wilson taking over as solo host this year, and she’ll likely be a huge winner come Wednesday.
Ella is one of the most-nominated artists this year, tied with Lainey and Megan Moroney with six nods in total. Her song “you look like you love me” (featuring Riley Green), received three separate nominations for Single, Song and Music Video of the Year. Additionally, she is nominated for Female Vocalist and New Artist of the Year.
I expect she’ll take home at least a few of those, if not more.
And of course, like most of the other artists that are nominated this year, she’s been doing quite a bit of press talking about her year and what this country music journey has been like, after her career exploded with the release of her viral hit with Riley Green,
But she also answered some more lighthearted questions, including what some of her dating “red flags” are. She had a great one ready to go, saying she hates it when a guy doesn’t hold the door for a lady… whether it’s one they’re interested in dating, or just any other girl, a gentlemen should always hold the door open:
“In a guy? If he doesn’t hold the door open for a lady… not just the lady you like, but any lady. Hold the dang door open.”
One of the interviewers chimed in that rule should really apply to anyone, whether it’s a girl or guy, and Ella responded:
“Just hold the door. Be nice.”
Amen…
I know it probably sometimes seems like girls want too much when it comes to dating, but things like this really do matter the most, and I wholeheartedly agree with Ella. If you can’t even hold the door open for a lady, a very simple task, then I think expectations are low in terms of expecting much else…

Ella released her debut studio album Hungover in 2024, and just released a new song co-written and produced by Miranda Lambert called “Choosin’ Texas,” which is one of my favorite songs she has ever put out.
I’m sure it will be part if her next project, though nothing has been officially announced yet, but I’m sure we’ll be getting some more new tubes in 2026, if not sooner.
