Kentucky Home Goes Viral For Modeling Basement After An Old School Waffle House Diner

It’s not just a Waffle House, it’s a Waffle Home.

This might be more iconic than the original Waffle House location. The original Waffle House location opened Labor Day weekend, 1955, in Avondale Estates, Georgia. Given the history of this first location of the historic franchise known for serving up hashbrowns smothered and covered, one can only assume that Waffle House fans and addicts want to see the historic location.

This Waffle House location, however, is no longer serving All-Star Breakfast platters—it’s now the Waffle House Museum. It takes visitors on a walk down memory lane, transporting folks back to 1955 with a remodel of the original interiors, vintage mugs, menus, and over sixty years of memorabilia. Fans get the full experience of a Waffle House from seventy years ago…well, without the food.

Waffle House enthusiasts might have to wait six months to visit this famous location, which is bonkers compared to the average 20-30-minute wait at the local franchise down the street. However, there is another “Waffle House” that might be more exclusive than this original location.

A Kentucky home that’s for sale is currently going viral for its epic Waffle House-inspired basement setup.

“I showed a property today that had the basement designed to look just like an old Waffle House.”

Realtor Heather Reeves shared on her TikTok page.

In the video, sure enough, the basement is filled with red and black vinyl seats, a few two-seater booths, and a high-top counter. The retro look transports you back in time, resembling the Waffle House images shared above.

Complete with a juke box, this Waffle House, excuse me…Waffle Home, experience might be missing cigarette ashes in your eggs and drunken fights, but I bet it still serves up food handed to you by a loving server who calls you “Hun.”

“A dream.”

“It’s not biblically accurate without the row of waffle irons behind the counter that look like they haven’t been cleaned in who knows how long.”

I bet Hank Williams Jr. jam sessions are epic down there. Check out this legendary sing-along moment from a Florida Waffle House post-concert while you’re here:
