The Brianna Chickenfry and Zach Bryan saga never ends.
Of course, the country superstar and the Barstool Sports personality went through a very public breakup, which ultimately led to Brianna airing out a lot of it on her BFFs Podcast, with the biggest bomb being that Zach allegedly offered her $12 million to sign an NDA. It was seemingly a move to keep her quiet about the reality of their relationship, which sounded absolutely toxic from everything Brianna’s said. She’s accused him of cheating, among a lot of other awful things, but was her silence really worth $12 million dollars? I’d say no…
When the news first came out about the NDA, I think everyone was pretty shocked that she passed it up. But even as recently as February of this year, Brianna explained that she stood by her decision. She told TMZ outside of LAX that it would’ve been like taking “the Devil’s money”:
“No, no, no, no, that’s like Devil’s money. I don’t want someone else’s money.”
The reporter then asked, even though the money would have come from someone she deems evil, that kind of money changes people’s lives.
“Yeah, I know. But that’s ok. I’ll make my own money. Twelve million is kind of excessive. What am I gonna do with that?”
She’s continued to talk about Zach and their relationship throughout the course of this year, recently opening up about him on an episode of Special Forces, where she detailed to her teammate and Sister Wives star Cody Brown just how bad it was, saying he got “famous on TikTok and thinks he’s God”:
“He was awful towards me… He got famous on TikTok and thinks he’s God.”
In another scene from the episode, Chickenfry is having a conversation with a Directing Staff (DS) member, when he asks why she was there and why she was getting emotional during the interview, LaPaglia revealed just how “dark” that time in her life was, and that she was faced with the decision to take almost $13 million to “sign away” her voice:
“I think I’m here to not give up. I think I kind of gave up on myself last year, just mentally… I was in a bad relationship. It was like a public relationship with a famous person, and it was just like I would leave my house with a smile, but nobody knew what was happening. I was in a bad spot.
I lost sight of myself, and I just didn’t want to be here anymore. I was just a dark hole I had to climb out of. He offered me $12.9 million to sign away my voice.”
So clearly it affected her very deeply, understandably so, and during another recent interview on Sirius XM with Andy Cohen alongside co-host John Hill, Brianna opened up with more details about the nature of the NDA, which I hadn’t heard before.
She explained that it would’ve been “for five more years,” and she would’ve had to continue to be in contact with his team, which she most certainly did not want once their relationship came to an end:
“Well it was just, I’ve said it a bunch, but it was just like the last kind of form of control over me. So with the NDA, it would’ve been for five more years, so I would’ve had to keep checking in, being in contact with his team. It would’ve been this last thing to control me for five more years.
Anytime I spent money, I would’ve been spending this prick’s money. Blood money is what I called it. So that’s why it just my final, like, it’s over. I don’t want this, and surely it’s a lot of money, and anyone would want that.”
Hill remarked that she had already made that money and then some considering how much her career has taken off over the last couple years, to which she responded:
“I wish. No.”
I know people have tons of opinions about this situation, and we’ll never, ever know all of the details about it, but every time Brianna talks about this whole NDA, she’s very consistent with her reasons for not signing it, and comes across as genuine in that and talking about everything else she’s gone through. $12 mill would’ve been pretty nice though…
