Gavin Adcock Reveals The Six-Figure Number He Made From Selling T-Shirts With His Mugshot On Them

Well, I guess if you can make six figures from getting arrested, it’s almost worth it…

Gavin Adcock has burst onto the country music scene over the last couple of years, and he’s certainly viewed by his fans as a modern-day outlaw, never one to shy away from speaking his mind or sharing his opinions.

He’s recently been making headlines for his beef with fellow country artist Zach Bryan, and earlier this year, Gavin was arrested in Wilson County, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. On May 21, Gavin was charged with two counts of reckless driving and open container, and according to records from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Adcock was arrested at 11:15 PM and released on a $1,000 bond at 4:34 AM.

He sat in jail for around five hours, and not long after that happened, he released a song about getting arrested that was shockingly accurate to what happened to him called “Morning Bail.”

At the time, Gavin gave a brief explanation of what happened:

“I bought my dream car… a 1973 Dodge Challenger. Over the past few months I’ve been putting money into it, getting it running as good as new, and decided I wanted to take it for a joy ride. The car ran great. I got pulled over and arrested for reckless driving going 103 in Wilson County, TN.”

And during an appearance on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast, where he of course talked about his beef with Zach, and also detailed how his arrest went down and what really happened.

He explained that he had purchased his dream car, the aforementioned Dodge Challenger, and he had been cleaning out some stuff in his garage and tinkering with the car one evening. He’d had a beer while working on it, and left the empty can in the passenger seat.

The next night, he took it out for a driver, where he got pulled over and arrested. He told the cop he’d be happy to do a breathalyzer, though the cop told him he didn’t even think he was drunk, but they still took him in.

Gavin’s charges were ultimately dismissed, and he explained that it all worked out because he made a whopping $150,000 from selling T-shirts with a photo of his mugshot on them, which more than made up for his ticket fines and lawyer fees:

“Yeah, they go, ‘How did that work out for you?’ I said, well, considering that I had to, when they towed my car, they drove it at the impound lot. Or took it for a drive, messed up my motor. I had to get a new motor for the car. I had to pay my ticket, and then I had to pay like $4,000 in lawyer fees, so I’m $24,000 in the hole from that.

But I’ve probably sold about $150,000 worth of mug shot tees since then. So there’s little kids and husbands and wives wearing my face on the couch right now, or out to dinner. So it just worked out.”

I mean, margins on merch are usually relatively small, so he probably didn’t get $150K in his pocket, but either way… making some lemonade out of lemons, I guess? He cashed a big check, and had all the charges drop… sounds like a win-win to me if there was going to be one from this situation:
