Father of the year.
Little moments like this are what life is all about. Whenever parents take their young children to concerts, it always warms my heart. As the daughter of a musician and someone who spent a significant portion of my childhood behind a drum set, I’m living proof that music is a strong bond between a child and their parents. Whenever parents expose their children to their favorite artists at a young age, it’s not only making their dreams come true but also creates a lasting memory between that parent and child.
One father has the internet in a puddle after sharing a tender moment online between him and his daughter at a Cody Johnson concert. For her daughter’s sixth birthday, all she wanted to do was attend a Cody Johnson concert and hope that he would pull her on stage to sing “Dirt Cheap.” The father and daughter duo made a sign they were holding up from the crowd hoping to gain the attention of the Texas singer.
While Cody Johnson might not have spotted their sign from the crowd, instead, an incredible moment was captured between this father and daughter singing the song to one another.
“THIS MOMENT WAS EVERYTHING.”
The little girl’s mom wrote on social media.
“Blake had a request for her 6th birthday. She wanted to sing dirt cheap with her favorite singer, Cody Johnson. The crowd was rooting for her. They made sure she was acknowledged. Although it didn’t happen, he sent her a personal birthday message, and she gained the attention of the crowd. Thank you to all of you who were a part of this special moment.”
The whole time Johnson was performing “Dirt Cheap,” Blake’s father had his eyes locked on her, and he was truly filled with joy to see his little girl yell out the words to one of her favorite songs.
