This cheating scandal might be better than anything Bravo or E! Network could have produced. Who would have thought that this corporate America cheating scandal would top the Real Housewives caliber of scandal?
For some background information before we dive in, Andy Byron is the tech CEO of the software company Astronomer, which is reportedly worth over $1 million. The woman he was spotted with during a portion of the show that was highlighting those in the crowd was, ironically, Astronomer’s human resources chief, Kristin Cabot. According to LinkedIn, she’s held that position for just over nine months.
Andy Byron is married with two kids… the situation is obviously terrible for them too.
Coldplay’s frontman was using the camera connected to the jumbotron to highlight fans in the crowd. The mid-concert bit went south fast when the camera landed on Byron and Cabot cuddling up with one another. As soon as the camera settled in on Byron and Cabot, the two quickly pulled away from each other. Cabot put her hands over her face, and Byron ducked behind the railing they were standing in front of.
“Oh, look at these two. Oh, come on, you’re okay. What? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”
Talk about being caught red-handed…
Shortly after the cheating scandal went viral, social media detectives found that Andy Bryon’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, quickly dropped the “Byron” from the name on her Facebook page earlier. This swift move suggests that Megan will not be reconciling with her husband, and serving of divorce papers might be headed toward the CEO soon.
Megan’s page soon began to fill up with comments, mostly very supportive of Megan for being strong and immediately separating herself from the tech CEO. And for those who were leaving negative comments… can y’all cut this woman a break? She just found out her husband was having an affair from it being blasted all over the internet.
I’m all for her removing her married last name after seeing something like that. Plus, she’s probably just trying to hide from all the dumb comments she got. Even if the two were not engaged in some kind of sexual affair, it’s inappropriate behavior on her husband’s part.
Now, with the internet fully invested in this scandal, it was discovered that Astronomer’s CEO had gushed about hiring Cabot nine months prior to this moment.
A quick-moving office romance, eh?
“Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.
She is a proven leader at multiple growth-stage companies, and her passion for fostering diverse, collaborative workplaces makes her a perfect fit for Astronomer… Cabot has a proven track record of preserving and enriching company culture at organizations experiencing rapid growth.”
The New York Post found that in the same press release announcing that she was the new leader of HR, she said:
“There are plenty of companies out there where a leadership team doesn’t recognize the value that a strong people leader and people team can bring to a company. It’s not just about benefits or catered lunches. There’s so much more to it, and I was energized in my conversations with Andy and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here.”
Energized by conversations with Andy, eh?
Before the affair was outed online, sleuths also spotted a LinkedIn post from Andy Byron praising Kristin Cabot for her leadership and experience. That post has since been removed.
The whole situation is a total disaster.
