WATCH: Carter Faith Performs Her Unreleased Ode To “Billy Bob Thornton” For The ‘Landman’ Star

Carter Faith

Iconic.

Ella Langley has told fans that she thinks Carter Faith will be the next big female star in country music, and I can’t say that I disagree with her:

“I think that Carter Faith is going to have a massive (year)… She’s so creative, and she’s just right. She’s just one song away. I feel like she’s exactly where I was. I felt like I was one song away, and I really was just one song away. I think Carter is somebody who’s going to be around for a long time.”

The North Carolina native is a blonde firecracker who describes her music as “a cowgirl hippie and sometimes kind of trippy.” Faith has collaborated with artists like Sam Williams, Alison Krauss, Tyler Halverson, and Corey Kent. She’s also been touring with Luke Grimes, 49 Winchester, Carly Pearce, and more.

Faith’s lyrics are spoken from the heart, even if that means she’s breaking the Southern Belle mold and telling people how she really feels, like she does charmingly on her tune “Grudge.”

“If I were a good Christian woman (Like you), I’d probably forgive
But I’m pretty sure that even Jesus thinks that you’re a b*tch
Someone hold my beer ’cause I can’t hold my tongue
But I can hold one hell of a grudge”

If you like that snippet of lyrics, then I’d bet you’ll also enjoy an unreleased song she’s been teasing. It’s named after Landman star Billy Bob Thornton. After debuting it at the Blue Bird Cafe, Faith recently started teasing the song heavily.

In the same vein as Laci Kaye Booth’s new song about handsome older men like “George Strait,” the single romanticizes the singer and actor. While Booth sings about hoping she bags a man who becomes a silver fox like George Strait, Carter Faith’s tune sings about wishing she falls in love with a man who might be a little mentally unstable but loves her and keeps her entertained.

While that kind of love sounds like a good time, it often is a little toxic and ends in a train wreck. But ladies, we all know those lead to the best stories:

“I want a man like Billy Bob Thornton
Tough as nails, but his head’s a wreck
He’ll prove to me that I’m important
Wear my blood around his neck
That’s how I like ’em
Just don’t quite know how to find ’em
Hell I know I’m a contradiction
I’m always falling for a work of fiction
Probably get divorced
Hey, that’s just fine
I’d be a pretty good ex-wife…”

Fans instantly fell in love with the song and are hoping that Faith gives it to fans sooner rather than later. But before she releases the tune, it’s only right to get a stamp of approval from the man himself.

The good news is that it appears that Billy Bob Thornton is a fan of the ditty.

In a recent post, Faith casually strums her guitar and sings the song next to a horse pasture. After a few lines, the camera pans to show that Billy Bob Thornton is standing down the fence line from Faith and casually smokes a cigarette while enjoying the song. As he takes in the words, he smirks a little between drags.

Looks like a stamp of approval to me. Check it out:
