People Are Mad At Shaboozey For Saying He Would Like To Hit The Las Vegas Strip With Morgan Wallen

It’s so predictable at this point.

Morgan Wallen is one of the biggest names in country music…hell, in ALL of music right now. His latest album I’m The Problem debuted at the top of all-genre Billboard 200 album chart, and he landed 6 songs in the top 10 of the all-genre Hot 100 chart. Oh, and he also had the biggest streaming debut of any country album.

Just on a monster tear right now.

But Morgan is also one of the most controversial artists in country music, not only for his pop and rap-leaning sound but also for his controversies in his personal life.

Of course there was the racial slur incident back in 2021, and then there was his arrest last year at Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s, for throwing a chair off the roof. And a lot of people aren’t willing to forgive him for those – or willing to forgive people who choose to associate with Morgan.

Shaboozey is the latest artist who’s facing backlash for his support of Morgan Wallen, after an interview from the red carpet of last night’s AMA Awards when the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer revealed who he would like to hit the Las Vegas strip with:

“I’d probably take Morgan Wallen.”

I mean, stay off the rooftop bars but other than that it would probably be a good time.

But of course immediately after his comments, many on social media weren’t a fan of Shaboozey wanting anything to do with Morgan Wallen:

Honestly, the whole thing is so predictable and played out at this point. Nobody is making excuses for Morgan dropping a racial slur, but if you’re still claiming that he’s a racist despite all of the evidence of the past 4 years, you’re clearly just looking for a reason to hate him.

Morgan has collaborated with more black artists than anyone in country music, including rappers like Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo and BigXthaPlug. His concerts are more diverse than anyone else in country music, with his music having an appeal well outside the traditional confines of the genre. And if you look at his friends and who he hangs out with, it’s clear that the people who know him best don’t believe he’s a racist.

Was Morgan an idiot for dropping a racial slur? Obviously. Is he actually a racist? I mean, I don’t know him, but all of the people who do – of all different races and backgrounds – sure don’t seem to believe that he is. But hey, I’m sure you know him better from behind your social media account than the people who have spent time with him in real life.

The worst part, though, is the racist vitriol (which I’m not even going to repost, but look at X and it’s easy to find) being spewed at Shaboozey for even wanting to be associated with Morgan Wallen. How does that make these people any better than Morgan?
