The last release before I’m The Problem is officially out.
Today, Morgan Wallen announced on his Instagram stories that he’s dropping one last single ahead of the big album release on May 16th, which is a song called “Superman” he wrote with Ryan Vojtesak, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass ad James Maddocks for his son, Indigo.
Morgan previously teased the song saying it’s one he’s always been trying to write, though for whatever reason, it took him quite a while to find the right words:
“Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it. Here is a clip; It’s called ‘Superman.’”
The lyrics find him openly admitting all of his wrongdoings, including getting arrested and having now-infamous mug shots floating around online, that he will one day have to tell his son about, among other things he regrets:
It’s one that fans have been looking forward to hearing in-full for a while now, and Morgan says he decided to put it out on its own so the song could have the moment he feels like it deserves, because of how personal and special it is to him:
“What’s going on… just wanted to let y’all know, I’ve got a song coming out Friday, one last one before the album, and it’s a song I wrote for my son. It’s called ‘Superman,’ and it’s special to me for obvious reasons. I wanted it to have its own moment, and hopefully that’s what this will accomplish. album coming soon, song coming Friday. Talk to y’all later.”
So far, Morgan has also released six songs including the title track, “I’m a Little Crazy,” “Love Somebody,” “Lies Lies Lies,” and “Smile,” and a duet with his former hit duet partner Post Malone called “I Ain’t Comin’ Back.” I’m The Problem will features several other collabs, including a duet with pop star Tate McRae, in addition to features from Eric Church, Hardy and Ernest.
The tracklist will have 37 songs in total, which is just way too many, but there should be at least one song on there for everybody at that rate, and you can hear it all when I’m The Problem is released next Friday.
