President Trump Calls Out Taylor Swift During Philadelphia Eagles Visit To The White House: “How Did That Work Out?”

President Donald Trump calling out pop star Taylor Swift.

Today, the POTUS welcomed the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles to the White House to celebrate their accomplishment. As you likely remember, Philly embarrassed the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs – who were going for a three-peat – back in February, and saved us all from having to hear about Patrick Mahomes being the GOAT… at least for the time being.

It was also the first time that the Chiefs had lost the Super Bowl since pop superstar and Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift became a fan of the Kansas City team (she and Kelce started dating in 2023). I’d guess that a lot of NFL fans – both casual and diehard – didn’t mind seeing the Chiefs lose just because of the whole Taylor Swift storyline that has followed them ever since she got together with the team’s tight end.

One person that certainly seemed to enjoy Kansas City (and Taylor Swift) losing the “Big Game” was President Trump. Even though Donald Trump had voiced his support for Mahomes and the Chiefs before the Super Bowl, he changed his tune rather quickly when the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the game in wire-to-wire fashion. And just like Taylor Swift, the president was there at the Super Bowl to take in the game in person.

Trump made sure to mention that during the Eagles visit to the White House today, and he also used the moment to throw a little shade at Taylor Swift, saying:

“It was an incredible game. A little surprising, but right from the beginning in the first quarter of the big game – which I was there. I watched in person. I was there along with Taylor Swift. How did that work out? How did that one work out?”

Can’t say that I saw a Taylor Swift diss coming from the President of the United States, but this is Donald Trump we are talking about here.

Though Trump definitely called out the country-singer-turned-pop-star, I’d say he was just having a little bit of fun in the moment. The Philadelphia Eagles certainly found the joke amusing, so if the POTUS was playing to the crowd in that moment, it’s safe to say the mention of Swift was successful.

As for the Philadelphia Eagles visit to the White House itself, it definitely wasn’t a full house, if you catch my drift. Based upon reports – and pictures from Eagles Super Bowl celebration – many members of the Philly squad did not make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Many defensive players for the Eagles, as well as quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, were not present at the White House to visit with President Trump. A number of players cited “scheduling conflicts” as the reason they were not able to make it, but those online are assuming that some players just didn’t want to visit the President of the United States.

Now I don’t want to recklessly speculate here… but could we end up seeing a rift created on the Philadelphia Eagles team because some players went to the White House for their Super Bowl celebration while others did not? I’m not going to wish that upon them necessarily, though as a fan of another team in the NFC (Go Vikings!), I wouldn’t exactly be opposed to it either.
