Last night the NFL draft might have been filled with hilarious moments like Shilo Sanders realizing he might not get drafted, Clay Matthews pissing of liberal NFL fans by bringing up Trump in the early minutes of the draft (let’s be real it was more about saying the Bears still suck and less about the president), and some of the interesting outfit choices from the night.
However, one moment that needs to be shown more is the humility demonstrated by Maxwell Hairston.
Hariston, the former University of Kentucky player, was drafted by the Buffalo Bills last night as their newest cornerback. Being selected as the 30th overall pick last night, Hariston had some time to sit before his name was called to the stage in Green Bay, Wisconsin. While the waiting period might be stressful for players, Hartison was calm, cool, and collected during his waiting period last night and served as the ultimate hype man.
Hariston congratulated every single player that was drafted before him last night, high-fiving them and giving them hugs. You can tell by the smile that goes from ear to ear on his face that he was genuinely happy for every single player drafted last night, and was beyond grateful to be at the draft, regardless of the outcome.
When Hariston’s time came, everyone he showed love to was right there in return.
After the 2025 NFL Draft, Hariston went viral for his commeradre, and deservingly so. If this doesn’t show what kind of teammate he will be as the newest member of the Buffalo Bills, I don’t know what will.
The Bills just snagged a gem.
