President Donald Trump continues to shake things up at the White House… though I don’t think either party will have an issue with the 47th president’s latest move. (That’s probably not true, one party has a problem with pretty much everything he does).
Earlier today, Trump was seen traversing the North and South lawns of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with a grounds crew. After a good 10 minutes of looking at the ground, looking at the sky, pointing at the ground, and the spreading of arms, the president was eventually satisfied with the endeavor and returned back inside.
What was he doing? Well, I’ll let this image that was posted by the official White House social media account explain:

It’s no secret that President Trump loves the American flag. He loves it so much, in fact, that he believes multiple flags should be prominently displayed around the White House. As of right now, there’s just one Old Glory that flies atop the building itself. So he’s going to change things up at his presidential residence, and he’s planning to erect two separate 100-foot tall poles on both sides of the White House.
With the White House itself standing an impressive 70-feet tall, these flags that will be installed sooner rather than later will act as two towering book ends to the property, as Donald Trump explained to the media:
“We’re putting up a beautiful, almost 100-foot tall American flag. On this (north) side and another one on the (south) side. Two flags… top of the line. They’ve needed flagpoles for 200 years. It was something I’ve often said, ‘You know, they don’t have a flagpole.’ So we’re putting one right where you saw us (on the North Lawn) and we’re putting another one on the other side on top of the mounds. It’s gonna be two beautiful poles.”
So now that four-framed image is starting to make sense, right?
Another important thing to note is that President Trump has informed the media he’ll be paying for the two 100-foot flagpoles – as well as the massive American flags that fly on them – with his own money. Hence the debit/credit card with Donald Trump’s name on it in the image that was shared by the White House.
I’ve got a feeling that these flag poles – which will be the first freestanding flagpoles at the POTUS’ place – won’t take long to go up. And if you ask me, I’d say the more flagpoles, the merrier. Hell, Trump could have flanked every side of the White House with a massive American flag and that would have been fine with me. Though having one on the North Lawn, one on the South Lawn, and one up on the roof will probably be plenty.
