They say the game of golf is growing now more than ever before.
There was a huge boom during 2020, when everyone was either a) stuck at home or b) allowed to do socially distanced outdoor activities. Golf capitalized on the strange opportunity, and the sport really took off. Because so many people became interested so quickly, any and every golf course and golf center became crucially important. Golfers always need a place to play or practice.
One of those places that was there for the everyman (and everywoman) trying out the game of golf was Skylinks at Buchanan Fields in Concord, California.
The 9-hole course has existed since 1955 and prides itself in being a family friendly golf center. Golfers of all levels can touch up their game at their driving range, or get out on the links at hit some shots on their short 9-hole set up. All in all, the people who run the Skylinks at Buchanan Field in California just want to see people get outside and improve their golf game – all while having fun with friends and family.
One thing the fine folks at Skylinks won’t stand for? People having affairs in their parking lot.
This story took a turn, didn’t it? One minute you are reading about a quaint little 9-hole course in California and all that it has to offer. The next? You are learning that Skylinks took to their social media account to call out a couple that was using their facility in a way that wasn’t family friendly.
What do I mean by that? Well, I’ll just let you read what they put out on their official Instagram account. The first portion of their message, which was encouraging some extra marital activities to come to a stop, read like this:
“To the late 30’s married wife in the black car who’s having a secret affair and with the guy in the smaller silver car who’ve decided to use the back right corner of our Skylinks carpark to meet weekly on the same day at –:30 a.m. next to the workshop and the recycling dumpster where you THINK no one is watching – PLEASE STOP.”

If you thought that was ruthless and pointed, just wait until you see how they backed up their opening paragraph. From what I can gather, some well-placed cameras in the golf center’s parking lot have captured some pretty incriminating video of the couple. And they threatened to release it if the parking-lot-sessions continued:
“If it happens again, we’ll drop the footage and watch all hell break loose. We’re a Family Golf Course – NOT some Jerry Spring Family destruction zone. Dr. Phil would suggest to go home and have an honest chat with the person who really needs to hear it.”
For some strange reason, the Skylinks Golf account has made their post unable to be embedded, so I can’t link it directly to this story. However, as you might imagine, the story is slowly starting to spread onto the internet, and the post from Skylinks has already made it onto the Twitter/X universe:
Love to see a golf course so focused on providing a family friendly atmosphere that they are willing to release video of something that would likely tear a family apart. How can you not be romantic about baseball golf?
