Every college girl’s nightmare.
We’ve all had rough neighbors before-especially in college. Loud music, gross smells, and maybe the occasional passive aggressive note on the wind shield. But at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, they have two furious geese who take over the entire street.
Students have apparently been trapped in their home for days, too scared to even step outside. Why? Because the angry geese have taken over the area and are attacking them at every move. There’s a Canada news clip going viral on Tiktok of the insanity:
@cbcnews “For close to a week now, we can’t even leave our house.” For The Moment on CBC’s The National, Jory Harris says angry Canada geese trapped her and her roommates inside their housing unit in Waterloo, Ont., and attacked anyone who approached. #TheMoment #animals #scary ♬ original sound – CBC News
Thanks to ring doorbells, we get to see footage of the geese chasing them in and out of the house. And y’all, it’s no joke.
Jory Harris, a student at the university posted the original clip of the Canadian Horror Story. In the video, they seem to be trying to escape the wrath of a very aggressive goose dad who’s not having it. And we’re not talking honking or flapping. We’re talking full-on assault.
And honestly, it’s equally hilarious as it is terrifying.
“We can’t even leave our house. He’s so angry. There’s now a nest there. So we actually, we just don’t know what to do anymore.”
I’m no bird expert but I do know that a nest close by is bad news. The goose must be on full protector mode-and anyone who’s ever come within 50 feet of a nesting is a no-go. At that point I would honestly be moving out.
It gets even funnier when she talks about how one of their friends try to escape with an armful of Costco croissants, only to get chased back into the house-with croissants flying everywhere then getting eaten by the geese.
People seeing the video have lots to say:
“Geese are awfully aggressive for creatures with such grabable necks”
“The geese ATE your croissants?! In THIS economy?!”
“I feel for these ppl but this is such a funny problem to have”
“The croissants went flying” sent me”
“This is soo Canadian”
“God forbid goose have hobbies”
“Getting chased by potential dinner is insane”
“Crazy how at one point we were top of the food chain now we be running away from geese”
“Imagine telling your boss why you’re late to work”
To my surprise, many were calling the attacking birds “potential dinner.” Apparently, people are thinking they should be taking matters into their own hands and eating the geese? Never occurred to me…
Regardless of your feelings when watching the video, we can all agree that this is the most Canadian thing ever. Let’s just be thankful it’s their problem, not ours.
