Kid Rock is doing his best to bring the world together.
Did I see that coming in 2025? To be honest, I can’t say that I did. Am I all for Kid Rock taking on a diplomatic role? I’ll answer that question with a rhetorical question…. did Kid Rock wear the most patriotic, bright-colored suit the world has ever seen to the White House yesterday?
In case there’s any confusion, the answer to that question is a big ol’ YES:

Anyways, there’s no sense in me delving into the divisiveness that politics has brought about in recent years. I’m sure we are all well-versed on the subject (whether we want to be or not), and frankly, a bit tired of it all. Kid Rock is ready for all of the hypersensitivity to see its way out, and he discussed that in depth in a recent interview on The Glenn Beck Podcast.
The “Born Free” singer recently sat down with Beck and talked about how he personally handles the division. The artist is simply saying that if someone is unreasonable and accusatory, he doesn’t waste a lot of energy on them anymore. And if someone doesn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with him, but they can still have a reasonable conversation, Kid Rock is more than happy to sit down with them.
It’s an interesting way of approaching relationships, and it certainly seems to be working for Kid Rock. However, there’s still plenty of division in the United States, and even Kid Rock can recognize that. So that’s why he brought up the fact that he was aiming to reunite the country as soon as April, as he explained:
“I’m actually gonna try to unite this country, and at the end of the month, I’m taking Bill Maher to the White House for dinner. This guy has done nothing but talk smack about the President since day one. But he’s a comedian too. I can have conversations with him… we can find common ground.
He’s actually more reasonable than a lot of people on the right would think. Especially the last four years or whatever. So I said to him, ‘If I can hook you guys up,’ this that and the other. Trust me, there’s a lot of people more deserving to be at that table. It’s a big deal for me to bring him there. What would it say to this country?”
It would likely say a lot.
Though when he said that, the dinner between President Trump and Bill Maher wasn’t set in stone. But at some point, Kid Rock got the meet up officially set up, and Donald Trump viewed it as “doing a favor” for his good friend. That’s the only reason he ended up doing it, according to Trump’s Truth Social post about it:
“I got a call from a very good guy, and friend of mine, Kid Rock, asking me whether or not it would be possible for me to meet, in the White House, with Bill Maher, a man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP.
I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting. The problem is, no matter how much he likes your Favorite President, ME, he will publicly proclaim what a terrible guy I am, etc., very much like the Democrats at my recent Address to the Joint Session of Congress, where I stated, correctly, that no matter what I said or did, they wouldn’t stand, they wouldn’t applaud, they wouldn’t smile or laugh and, certainly, they wouldn’t be in any way “nice.”
Who knows, though, maybe I’ll be proven wrong? In any event, I’m doing a favor for a friend. I look forward to meeting with Bill Maher, Kid Rock and, I believe, even the Legendary Dana White will be present. It might be fun or, it might not, but you will be the first to know!”

And we were the first to know how it all went down… but it was Kid Rock breaking the news on the dinner rather than President Trump.
The country rock artist joined Fox News’ Fox & Friends this morning, and he happily detailed how things went during the meal with President Trump and Bill Maher. From how Kid Rock explains things, it sounds like the dinner couldn’t have gone any better… and that a lot of minds were blown:
“It could not have been better…
We talked about things we had in common. Ending wokeness, securing the border. The president was asking him what he thought about policy, going on with Iran and Israel and things. It blew my mind. I was very proud.
There has never been anyone whoever met President Trump in any scenario that’s walked away without saying, ‘Wow, what a great guy. He’s so funny, so engaging, and so smart.’ Bill even said to me after that, he goes, ‘Wow.’ Everybody’s mind was blown. Even the President’s, I think. The President called me late last night.
Everyone was a little suspect about going into this. Even the President said, ‘What do you got me doing?’ Man, we’re just trying to show people that even though we’ve been pretty hard on each other, when you get face to face, maybe we could have a little more civility in this country and try to bring people together. That was my whole intention.”
