Wonder why Morgan would want to get out of there…
Morgan Wallen was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, an appearance timed to promote his upcoming album, I’m The Problem, and corresponding tour.
But after the show, all anybody is talking about is how Morgan didn’t really seem to want to be there…
During SNL’s signature end of show sendoff – where the cast, host and musical guest all say goodbye to the audience and hug and chat – the country music singer gave his pleasantries to host Mikey Madison (who won the 2025 Oscar for “Best Actress” for her performance in Anora) and then Wallen walked right off the stage.

It looked like Morgan Wallen wait to get out of New York City, and his Instagram story that he posted shortly after his early exit seemingly confirmed that:
“Get Me Back To God’s Country.”

While the internet blew up at Wallen seemingly snubbing the show, TMZ spoke to a source close to Wallen about the incident, who said that Morgan meant nothing by his exit and he “entered and exited” the studio the same way he did in rehearsal and camera blocking all week:
“We’re told he entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show… so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go.”
No harm, no foul, right?
Of course the whole incident blew up even more not only because the singer is a polarizing figure, but because it was assumed that the liberal cast of SNL probably aren’t big fans of Morgan Wallen (or country music in general). And after the show, a writer from the show took to Instagram to seemingly mock Wallen and his abrupt exit.
Josh Patten, a comedy writer for the show’s Weekend Update segment who is one of the longest-tenured writers on SNL, posted a picture of a Krispy Kreme truck to his Instagram story with the same caption that Morgan used on his post-show photo:

Guessing Patten’s not a Morgan Wallen fan?
Of course a lot of the comments about Patten’s post online were pointing out that it’s no wonder the show isn’t funny anymore, but that’s a discussion for a different day.
Morgan Teases ‘I’m The Problem’ Tracklist During SNL Performance
Earlier this week, several videos went viral claiming to have found a leaked tracklist from Morgan’s upcoming album, which is set to be released on May 16. But during his performance last night, Morgan seemingly debunked the leaked track list when he teased some of the songs from the album.
During his performance of “Just In Case,” the names a several tracks flashed across the TV screen behind him, indicating that the album will contain a couple of features (although the featured artists were blacked out).
The tracks that were revealed were:
2: I Got Better
4: What I Want (feat. _)
8: Skoal, Chevy, and Browning
14: Where’d That Girl Go
15: Genesis
21: Come Back as a Redneck (feat. _)
34: LA Night
35: Miami
Between each song on the screen, it would read “No Signal” or flash the “Morgan Wallen Broadcast Network’s” logo.
Most of the songs teased during this SNL performance didn’t not appear on that leaked tracklist, but the song “Come Back as a Redneck” matched and (if correct) will feature Morgan’s friend and frequent collaborator Hardy.
Regardless, if you’re a fan of both Morgan Wallen and SNL, I hope you enjoyed last night’s performance – because I’m not sure the two sides are going to be eager to work together again any time soon.
