Post Malone has been walking the country music walk, but now, after his most recent purchase, he can talk the talk that he’s a cowboy.
The Texas native embraces his country roots even more, becoming a full-on cowboy and adding a new four-legged friend to his crew. And while most musicians add a dog to the tour bus, who can accompany them on the road, Malone chose a new companion of a much larger size… adding a horse to his herd.
Riding a horse along Sunset Boulevard with Dwight Yoakam must’ve been a really magical experience for him to want a horse of his own…
A few days ago, Malone sealed the deal, bringing home a stunning dark grey ranch horse from Paige Horses, LLC, an Amarillo, Texas-based horse trainer specializing in selling ranch and cow horses.
The best part about Malone’s new purchase is his noble steed’s name. The stocky gelding is named Ashtray. Talk about a match made in heaven, given Malone is often ripping heaters on stage, at the bar, and when he’s out and about.

The horse’s ash grey color fits his name perfectly, and he looks like he will take care of Malone. Paige Horses, LLC posted on their Facebook page that Malone was one of their latest clients, congratulating him on his purchase.

In their post, they shared who Ashtray’s new owner is and also shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Malone, which I can only imagine was to finalize the sale.
That’s an F-1 Trillion kind of ride right there…
I hope Ashtray makes some appearances in photoshoots or music promotions soon.
If Malone is planning for his daughter’s future at all with this purchase, he’s a wise man. As a woman who grew up riding horses, my parents said it not only instilled a great work ethic in me having to care for such a large animal. But they also quickly learned that I would be obsessed with my horse, not boys… see where I’m going here…
