The Limestone Kid is back.
Parker McCollum is giving Gold Chain Nation a preview of what’s in store for his fifth studio record. McCollum has been hyping up this record long before its official announcement. Last year, McCollum told fans that he was in the studio beginning to record his fifth studio album, and felt as though the songwriting was some of his strongest since the release of his debut record, The Limestone Kid.
“Studio tomorrow. Crazy to be recording my 5th studio album. I know for 100% fact that these songs and this record is best I’ve put together since the kid. Took me a long time to get back to this place as a songwriter. Feels good to be happy about my songs again.”

With the official announcement of the record now shared with the public, fans will soon see if The Kid is back. However, based on how McCollum described this album, it sounds like no matter how the public receives it, he feels like this is the songwriting and sound he’s been longing for over the last few years, and will continue to grow off the sound displayed on the self-titled album.
“It is the best thing I’ve ever done. This record is honest, this record is raw, this record is one thousand percent authentic, Parker, and it feels really good to get back to writing and recording songs like I always wanted to.”
While the record is slated for a June 27th release, McCollum is giving his fan club a sneak peek at what’s in store, sharing a private listening link to one of the songs that will be featured on the record. Of course, some of his fan accounts have screen-recorded the SoundCloud page to spread the song to all his fans, not just Gold Chain Nation members.
McCollum previewed the studio cut of a new song he performed at CRS this year, titled “Hope That I’m Enough.” However, for tried and true fans of McCollum, they are familiar with “Hope That I’m Enough.” McCollum has been playing this song for quite some time now, first seeing videos of it from 2022 acoustic sets.

I fell in love with this song after his performance at CRS, and hearing the studio cut makes me fall even more in love with it. McCollum’s vulnerable lyrics describe his hope that he’s enough in his relationship and his desire not to let their love fade as he and his lover navigate each chapter of life.
Given that McCollum has been sitting on this song for years, the meaning of the lyrics might have evolved since he initially penned them, but they are something anyone in a relationship can relate to, whether they are dating, engaged, married, or married and welcoming a child into the world. The fear of growing apart from someone you love is very real, and the longing to be enough to make your partner happy is a desire most people have.
“Sunlight through the window
You like sleepin’ in
I just lay a-waiting
Sunlight to leave again
Love that I am who you love
You’ll always be plenty
I just hope that I’m enough…”
After fans begin listening to the studio cut he previewed, they agree that The Limestone Kid is back. Hallie Ray Light wasn’t kidding when she said The Kid was 100% back.
“Wait till you hear the new album. The Kid is 100% back.”
Fans are stoked to see what else is in store for his self-titled record.
