Powerful.
Last night, Morgan Wade played show in L.A. at the El Rey Theatre, where she was joined by a very famous friend in Kyle Richards, who is a star on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
She and Morgan have become close friends, and while there were a lot rumors they might actually be a couple last year, that seems to have subsided for the most part as Morgan took a step back from the spotlight this season on the show, after appearing in a couple of episodes in RHOBH the season prior.
I don’t know what the deal is there, and I don’t really care, but regardless of the nature of their relationship or friendship, the pair has remained close and Kyle was at Morgan’s show last night. Morgan got to know one of Kyle’s close friends Teddi Mellencamp (yes, the daughter of John Mellencamp) after becoming close with Kyle a few years ago, and they’ve been on trips together as a group and all become good friends.
Teddi, who is a mom of three kids, has been in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery to remove tumors from her brain:
Obviously, it’s a very scary time for Teddi and her family, and Morgan told the crowd at the concert that she went and visited her friend in the hospital while in town:
“I’m really blessed to have a bunch of people here with me tonight, if you don’t mind, when you leave here tonight, say a prayer for my good friend Teddi Mellencamp.. I went to visit her a little bit ago, I’m guessing it was about a week ago, she went and had to have emergency surgery on her brain to remove some tumors. So she would be here tonight…”
About that time, an awesome fan could be heard yelling to Morgan:
“Let’s pray together… let’s pray together, honey.”
Morgan asked the rest of the audience if they were down for that, and they cheered back to her. Morgan led the entire room in a simple prayer for her friend Teddi, which was so powerful and honestly, really cool to see in a place like LA (no offense to LA, I know it’s not all that crazy, it’s just not the place I would’ve expected that to happen, which honestly makes it even more special):
“Yeah, well if y’all don’t mind, are you good with that? I appreciate you. Dear Lord, we just ask that you reach down and touch Teddi, and take care of her, bring her through this, keep her strong. She’s an amazing individual, loving mom, so we pray for her as you watch over her and guide her. In Christ name, amen.”
After the prayer, Morgan told everyone that Teddi still “roasted” her when she went to visit because of how “awkward” she can be:
“She still roasted me, though, when I was in the hospital, because she reached her hand out, and I’m very awkward, I’m a very awkward person, VIP might have realized that. And I touched her hands, and she was like, we kinda did this… and I was like, ‘Love you,’ and she was like, ‘You’re still very… this was very awkward. I like that.’
Anyways, thank y’all all so much for coming to hang out with us tonight, it really does mean a lot. I know a lot of people here have been through a lot, and I know people have been affected with the fires. It means a lot to have you guys out here, to have a good night, to have a little fun. So I appreciate each and every one of you. I seriously do.”
If she still has a sense of humor while dealing with everything she’s going through, she sounds like a strong lady, indeed.
TMZ shared the video, which was partially pulled from Kyle’s Instagram story, and you should definitely watch it below. It looked like a really cool moment, and with way more than two or three gathered to pray, I have no doubt their prayers were heard and I’m sure it meant the world to Teddi, too.
It’s one of the coolest concert moments I’ve ever seen:
#MorganWade had #TeddiMellencamp on her mind while performing onstage … pausing between songs at L.A.’s El Rey Theatre to talk about her friend’s health woes.
