A little slow on the delivery but held up his end of the promise.
Zach Bryan is on a roll with new music, and fans love it. Rounding out 2024, ZB dropped two singles, “High Road” and “This World’s A Giant,” following his very public breakup with Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry.
Fans knew he was writing nonstop after the breakup, as he teased several snippets of new music in the works. That roll has not slowed as he continues to shine light on new tracks, a few of which are seemingly inspired by the breakup. Bryan has already announced a forthcoming EP, With Heaven On Top, which he says is coming “sooner than not,” but he’s also confirmed that this EP is just an additional project on top of the full album he’s promised fans this year. He also has an upcoming film project he’s working on with Matthew McConaughey, so ZB is staying very busy.
However, given ZB is a massive Philadelphia Eagles fan, he placed some small bets on his team, promising fans new music if they pulled through. ZB promised “Blue Jean Baby” ahead of the NFC Championship game, and after the Eagles’ victory, ZB delivered the new song.
ZB did the same thing before the Super Bowl, noting that if his team won, he would release a second song called “Dear Miss.”

Everything mentioned in this caption became true. Shane Gillis and Zach Bryan did a pop-up in New Orleans, and those Eagles flew, taking their team to the winner’s circle.
The day after the Super Bowl (Monday), fans were shocked to see that “Dear Miss” was not yet on streaming platforms. But given that ZB looked like he was having a time in New Orleans, celebrating the win in style and even meeting the 47th President, Donald Trump, I’d take a wild guess that ZB was down bad yesterday.
However, ZB did not skimp on his promise and released “Dear Miss” to streaming platforms in the early hours of this morning. Better late than never, eh?
The track is heavy-hitting as ZB reflects on a relationship that he knows is either doomed or is his end game. He opens the lyrics by writing a letter to his lover’s mother, noting that he’s not a perfect man but hopes to change for her daughter as she loves him truly.
“There’s a letter to your mother that is hidden is my desk
That I wrote to her in a sober mind
It’s my apology for all the things I used to be
And swearin’ I’ll change over time
She might not believe me ’cause no one ever does
Except her daughter that loves me true
God forbid all it takes for a boy to finally wait
Just to be cherished and loved all the way through…”
It was first teased back in 2024, so could this be about Brianna?
We know that ZB and Bri had a rocky relationship at the end, but the lyrics seem to point to a recently ended relationship. ZB admits that he is far from a perfect man in this relationship yet appreciates how he was cared for by this lover and how she saw him for what was beyond his exterior actions.
Unlike a few of his previously released singles, which fans felt had lower production quality, “Dear Miss” feels like it has been completed for some time. ZB was waiting for the perfect moment to share it, and he knocked this one out of the park.
