Ok, I’m starting to buy into this one.
There have been plenty of NFL fans who have claimed that the league is scripted lately, although most people believed that the league was in the tank for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The two-time defending Super Bowl champions had been the recipient of quite a few favorable calls in this year’s playoffs, like some questionable penalties on their opponents and, most recently, this call that took away a first down from the Buffalo Bills late in a pivotal drive during the AFC Championship Game.
And with the Chiefs heading back to the Super Bowl to take on the Philadelphia Eagles this year, some people were claiming that was the NFL’s plan all along thanks to a longstanding conspiracy theory surrounding the big game’s logo.
If you’re not familiar, the theory claims that past Super Bowl logos have “predicted” who matches up against one another in the big game. Super Bowl 56’s logo had an orange and yellow color scheme, with the Cincinnati Bengals (orange) and Los Angeles Rams (yellow) played in the game. The logo for Super Bowl 57 featured green and red as its colors, and featured the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs facing off against each other.
But the conspiracy seemed to die last year in Super Bowl LVIII when the purple and red logo failed to predict the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
No worries though, because the conspiracy theorists had an explanation for that too: Apparently the 49ers were the red team while Kansas City Chiefs were the purple team. And why were the Chiefs purple? Because Taylor Swift was the main topic of conversation surrounding the team’s Super Bowl appearance given her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce, and Taylor’s Speak Now album features a purple album cover.
A little bit of a stretch? Sure. But they had to make the conspiracy theory fit somehow.

Well with the theory being “confirmed” by past results, it returned in 2025 to predict the matchup between the Chiefs and the Eagles. And while the prediction did eventually come true, it wasn’t exactly going out on a limb to predict that both of those teams would win their conference championship games.
They were two of the most dominant teams in the NFL this season, and with the Washington Commanders knocking off the Detroit Lions to advance to the NFC Championship Game, it seems like the Eagles had to be feeling pretty good about the matchup in the NFC Championship Game regardless of the logo.
But for conspiracy theorists, the logo not only claims to predict the matchup for the Super Bowl, but also the game’s results.
According to one version of the conspiracy theory, the team whose colors are predominant in the bottom of the logo coming out on top. And another theory claimed that the team whose logos are the minority color in the logo will be the winner. (Apparently the conspiracy theorists can’t agree on this part of their theory).
But that didn’t matter this year. Whether you believed it was the team whose colors appeared in the bottom of the logo or the team whose colors were less predominant in the logo, either way the internet was claiming that the Eagles were going to take home the victory:

And well, once again they were right. Despite the Chiefs coming into the game as slight favorites, the Philadelphia Eagles absolutely dominated the two-time defending Super Bowl champions, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back en route to a massive 40-22 upset victory.
The Eagles defense absolutely dominated the Chiefs offense and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, denying the team a three-peat and more importantly, keeping the logo conspiracy theory alive for another season.
Guess we’ll know who’s going to win in 2026 as soon as the logo is released for the next game.
