On the road again.

This morning, the living legend himself Willie Nelson announced new tour dates for 2025, which finds him trekking through the South with stops in Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama that will take place on two separate weekends in April.

At 91 years young (he’ll be almost 92 when these shows happen, because his birthday is on April 29th), the red headed stranger continues to impress with his fortitude and stamina to continue to perform and put on concerts in various cities throughout the country.

Last year, Willie and his Family Band embarked on the annual Outlaw Music Festival tour, though Willie did miss the first couple weeks of shows due to an undisclosed illness, and his son, Lukas, filled in for him on those dates.

It’s unclear if he’ll do another tour like that because it was pretty extensive, though I have to imagine he’ll announce at least a few more dates in 2025 as long as he continues to be happy and healthy doing it. Touring and playing music is in his blood, and it’s what he does best… even if he’s in his 90’s, Willie continues to prove that age really is just a number.

In addition to his 2024 tour, Willie also released a new album called Last Leaf On The Tree, which was his 76th solo studio album (and 153rd album overall). Produced by his son Micah, the record includes 13 with a mix of both covers and originals, and it was mostly recorded at the Hen House in Venice, California, as well as a little bit at Willie’s famous Pedernales Studios near his home outside of Austin, Texas.

It’s simply amazing to see Willie continue to tour and make high-quality, truly great new music, and like I always say, if you’re anywhere near these tour stops, or even if you’re not, and you’ve always wanted to see him perform live, I wouldn’t miss this opportunity.

The first stop is at Brandon Amphitheater in Brandon, Mississippi, and he will also be in Gautier, Mississippi, Macon, Georgia and Huntsville, Alabama:

Additionally, Willie Nelson & The Family Band will make an appearance on the landmark 50th Anniversary season of Austin City Limits, which will air on February 15th. Of course, Willie helped launch the program in 1974, headlining the very first episode that was filmed in Studio 6A at the University of Texas.

It’s jam packed with tons of great songs from earlier in his career that he doesn’t typically play as much anymore. I mean, he doesn’t even have the braids yet… vintage Willie at his best. The PBS station KLRN in San Antonio and Austin, Texas, produced the pilot episode of the incredible, long-standing variety show and music program, and the rest is history…
