ABC’s David Muir Mocked For Pinning His Fire Jacket Back During California Wildfire Report: “Vanity Never Takes A Pause”

This is why people hate the news… well, that and the constant lying, gaslighting, half-truth reporting that’s brought to you by… you guessed it… Pfizer.

What’s going on in California is devastating right now. A number of wildfires are ravaging the greater Los Angeles area, with another one in the Hollywood Hills starting tonight. The latest fire, the Sunset Fire, has prompted a mandatory evacuation order for the area between Laurel Canyon Boulevard (on the west) to Mulholland Drive (on the north) to 101 Freeway (on the east) down to Hollywood Boulevard (on the south).

Here’s a quick rundown of the fire activity so far:

  • Palisades Fire: Over 15,800 acres have been burned, with 1,792 personnel assigned to fight the blaze, as reported by Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley.
  • Hurst Fire: Impacting over 700 acres, with 260 personnel actively working on containment.
  • Woodley Fire: Now controlled, covering approximately 30 acres.
  • Eaton Fire: Currently at 10,600 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
  • Lidia Fire: Near Acton, this fire has burned over 340 acres.
  • Sunset Fire: Hollywood Hills near Runyon Canyon

Approximately 130,000 people are affected by evacuation warnings or orders due to the Eaton and Palisades fires, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna. The Eaton Fire has prompted evacuation orders or warnings for over 70,000 residents, while about 60,000 people are under similar alerts from the Palisades Fire. Luckily, only about 100 customers with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power remain without electricity, following the restoration of service to 133,000 customers. However, about 40,0000 Southern California Edison customers in Los Angeles County are still without power.

The destruction is unimaginable… blocks and blocks of Pacific Palisades have been completely leveled. Thousands have lost homes, businesses, their entire livelihoods… a handful have even lost their lives. My heart breaks for these people.

ABC reporter David Muir was reporting live from the streets of Pacific Palisades this afternoon, standing in that burning rubble with his shiny new ABC fire jacket. But there was just one little problem… it was just too big for him. How were any of the viewers going to know that he works out? Gotta cinch that thing down… nice and tight… with clothespins.

And that’s exactly what viewers saw on live TV when Muir turned his back towards the camera:

Admittedly pretty hilarious, but also pretty meaningless. It wouldn’t even be that funny if Muir wasn’t one of the most vain personalities in the news. I mean, has that dude ever walked past a mirror and not stop to admire himself? I’d put my money on… “no.” But regardless, I imagine there’s lot of wardrobe tricks and tips that come with territory when you’re on live TV. I’m sure this kind of thing is fairly commonplace and I personally don’t really blame him for not wanting his jacket flapping around. You’re dealing with wires, mics, etc… Hell, my 3 year old daughter’s Elsa Halloween costume was too big for her this past year, so what did I do… that’s right, cinched it up in the back like that.

Nevertheless… that didn’t stop the internet from mocking him into oblivion. Plus, with his Zoolander aura and pompous attitude, he’s just hard not to want to make fun of… and the good people of X let him have it.


Like I said, I couldn’t care less what Muir wears in front of a burning building, I care much more about the integrity and honesty of his reporting, which he pretty much proved he had none of when he moderated the September 2024 Presidential Election debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis fact-checked, and even challenged, Donald Trump on numerous occasion. There was one point in the debate where it was almost as if Muir was debating Trump. And of course, they didn’t fact check Harris at all.

So like I said, roast Muir for his clothespins all you want, but being a complete partisan hack is where the real mockery should begin.

And of course, all of this distract from the real issue at hand… helping the people of southern California. Prayers up for the Palisades.
