‘Tis the season.
The offensive line for the Kansas City Chiefs are really going to enjoy their Christmas bonus from Patrick Mahomes this year. 10 or so offensive lineman walked into the Kansas City Chiefs locker room today and got treated to a plethora of hand-picked, expensive gifts from their quarterback.
It’s really the least Mahomes could do… even with the O-Line unit being ranked 18th out of 32 teams over the past four weeks.
The tradition is for the quarterbacks across the NFL – whom make millions upon millions of dollars (Mahomes is currently on a 10-year, $450 million deal) – to gift thoughtful items to the men on the team that a) don’t make as much money and b) kind of play an intricate role in a QB’s ability to do their job.
Mahomes spared no expense taking care of his guys, as you can see in the picture below that the Chiefs team account posted:

Not a bad Christmas haul right there.
The folks over at Front Office Sports broke down the gift package from Mahomes into a detailed list for those that sometimes just need to see things in black and white. The 3-time Super Bowl winning quarterback grouped together some really nice items, and thoughtfully got a Kansas-City-red Yeti cooler (with wheels) for the O-line members to carry it all off in.
Patrick Mahomes left each of the Chiefs' offensive linemen a gift package for the holidays, featuring:

• Oakleys

If you are like me, you are wondering how much all of that cost for Mahomes, right?
I did some digging, and if my research serves me right, these are the costs of each of the items that Mahomes gifted to all of his offensive lineman:
-Rolex: $6,000
-Oakley Sunglasses: $240
-Yeti Cooler: $425
-Lucchese Boots: $895
-Normatec Elite Recovery System: $899
Now that comes out to a cool total of $8,459… but remember, Mahomes got each of his lineman this gaggle of gifts. So multiply that total by 10 and you get a number just shy of $85,000. That’s what you call some big time investments, and Patrick certainly doesn’t mind investing in the guys that make sure his head stays on his shoulders.
Then obviously, you’ve probably got some sponsorships that are helping Mahomes out a bit. He partners with Oakley, and there’s a chance some brands provided a bit of a discount knowing that a picture (and subsequent stories like this one) would draw eyes to their brands and products.
All in all, it’s a pretty cool insight into the inner working of the NFL during the holiday season. This right here is what Christmas is all about! But it still wasn’t enough to keep social media sleuths from cracking jokes about the gifts:
