Raisin’ em right.

Luke Combs and his wife Nicole no doubt have their hands full with two small children. Their first son, Tex, was born on Father’s Day back in 2022. And last year, they became a family of four when they welcomed their second son, Beau, back in August.

The couple have been adamant about giving their kids as normal of a life as possible, even with dad being one of the biggest superstars in country music and spending time away from home while out on tour.

According to Luke, he and Nicole choose not to hire a nanny to raise their children – saying he would rather have them “riding bikes and not tour buses.”

“We’ve thought about it, and it’s not a question of ‘Can we afford that?’ It’s a question of ‘Do we want that for our kids?’

And right now, at this time, I don’t think that’s something that we’re really interested in because I want our kids to have as normal of a life as possible considering the circumstances.”

Respect.

Of course it can’t be easy to do it by yourself, even for parents who don’t have the added responsibilities that come with Luke’s career. But it seems like Luke and Nicole are doing just fine and teaching their kids about what’s important.

Over the weekend, Nicole shared photos from a trip with her boys to lay wreaths on the headstones of our fallen service members at a veterans cemetery here in Nashville.

The wreath laying was part of National Wreaths Across America day, hosted by Wreaths Across America to honor those who served our country. The organization lays hundreds of thousands of wreaths on the graves of our military members every year, thanks to donations and volunteers like little Tex Combs.

Nicole says that her son shared a message with each of the veterans as he placed the wreaths:

“He kept saying, ‘Hi, I love you, thank you for your service. Merry Christmas’ to every headstone we laid wreaths on.”

That’s gotta make mom and dad proud.

Of course little Beau was there too, but he’s not old enough to lay his own wreath quite yet. But I have no doubt that he’ll be able to join in the family tradition soon enough.

According to Nicole’s sister Jenna, the family lays wreaths every year for a special reason:

“My sister and I’s annual tradition of Wreaths Across America to honor our Papo and our veterans around Christmas today. This year was extra special bringing my nephews along with us. Remember and honor our veterans and teach the next generation the same”

You love to see it. Important to teach kids to respect our military and those who fought for our freedom, and who knows, maybe this is a tradition that they’ll be able to carry on with their own kids someday.

Seems like Luke and Nicole already have this whole parenting thing figured out pretty well, even with two small children and a dad who’s one of the biggest stars in country music.
