What if I told you the biggest break out star of the SEC Championship wasn’t a football player?
The Georgia Bulldogs faced off against the Texas Longhorns yesterday in highly anticipated matchup with the SEC title on the line. Both teams flashed their defensive teeth, and it ultimately took an overtime period (real ball knowers call it “Extra Football”) to determine that Georgia was the better team.
Both SEC teams ended up making the College Football Playoff… while their league mate Alabama just missed the expanded 12-team postseason.
Though Georgia and Texas had a number of standout performances – like Georgia’s backup QB Gunner Stockton being thrust into the starting role – one could make an argument that the most memorable moment of the game came during halftime while both teams were in their respective locker rooms.
During the Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway, where students compete in a football-throw-off for $100,000 in tuition, ESPN sideline reporter Ashley ShahAhamadi was there to walk college football fans how the competition would work. She also introduced America to the two students that would be throwing against each other.
College football fans quickly fell in love with her:

ShahAhamadi has formerly worked as a sideline NBA sideline reporter for the Charlotte Hornets, and she’s also been a reporter for the Atlanta Braves. The 32-year-old has been working her way through the sports world for years, but during her network debut, Ashley really shined.
And the social media world went head-over-heels for her:
Ashley Shahahmadi… goodness. If I tried to talk to her all words would come out sounding like her last name

Now I hate to be the bearer of bad news for some of those internet sleuths above…
Ashley ShahAhamadi tied the knot last year, so she’s officially off the market. Someone online noticed the large diamond on her ring finger, and “after further review,” all of their (and the rest of the internet’s) long shot, hopeless dreams came crashing back down to Earth:
