Does this man ever slow down?
Last night at the 58th Annual CMA Awards, Cody Johnson showed the crowd what real deal country music sounds like. The night was filled with memorable moments, from his breathtaking performance with Carrie Underwood of their duet, “I’m Gonna Love You,” to his producer throwing shade at Shaboozey after Cody Johnson won Album of the Year for his project Leather.
This win Album of the Year win proves that Johnson and his team are dedicated to returning country music to its roots. And we are here for it.
Johnson had an outstanding year, rounding it out with the release of his Leather Deluxe Edition, which features a second disc of the record with an additional 13 songs. While fans are still enjoying and picking their favorites off the deluxe record, since it’s not even a month old, Johnson shared some exciting news on the red carpet that he’s planning on keeping the new music coming in 2025.
On the carpet, Johnson was asked what he’s manifesting for 2025. His answer was short and sweet but detailed some big plans.
“In 2025, I’m going to manifest that we are going to continue to change country music for the positive. I’m going into the studio, recording a new album. We are touring the UK, we’re touring Australia, New Zealand… big things are coming.”

Big plans are forming for Cody Johnson after the holiday season. I know that his fans will be over the moon hearing that Johnson plans to release another record next year after giving fans two albums this year.
After snagging CMA Album of the Year, Johnson and his team are on a roll and need to keep riding it. Cody Johnson hardly misses, so I am sure we can expect great things from this record in 2025.
Let the studio content commence.
Johnson’s fans filled up the comments section with their excitement. Check out a few of the comments.
“Cojo is so genuine – other artists need to take note.”
“Did he just say new album?”
“I love this man… and he don’t even know me.”
“Cojo, the new king of country music.”
“New album!!”
“Cannot wait!!!! Cojo is the prince of country music!”
“Gospel album, please!”
I was not expecting to see a comment like this, but now that I think about it…I’m on board. Johnson takes his fans to church during his shows, preaching about how blessed we are to live in a free nation and honoring those who have laid their lives down for us. I think a Gospel album would be so powerful, and his smooth twangs would drive home the message he’s singing. It’s not a bad idea from this fan.
“Yes, sir!”
“NEW ALBUM?!”
“Country music has a GEM with you in it! God Bless Cody Johnson.”
“Another album! LET’S FREAKING GO!”
While you’re here, fire up this performance from last night with Carrie Underwood… they blew the roof off Bridgestone Arena with their stellar vocals.
